    But I'll totally help you.

I have all of the key stats from last year.
I just have to add the multipliers for each stat and come up with the totals.

As with any other league, you figure out what the waiver-wire player value is... and draft by relative difference.
(I'm pretty sure this is how FHG works - we once discussed "Zero" placement several years ago)

I'll set it up and send it over to you later today.
I'm just curious, when you draft by relative difference, do you use projections or last year's stats?

I picked 11th in this league, 12 teams, 1 guy not live drafting.

    11. Karlsson - I did not think he would slip this far, planned on grabbing a goalie but I love having the best D in a start 3D.
    14. Bishop - Rinne and Fleury were just drafted so I grabbed Bishop
    35. Miller - 18 goalies had already been drafted, lots of talent on the board, best G was Miller however.
    38. Weber - I hoped to get him here and took him ahead of Burns and Letang.
    59. Doughty - Had to get my 3rd D, thought about Yandle.
    62. Wheeler - My first of next ~ forward picks lol.
    83. E.Kane - Not a multi cat league but do need PIM with scoring.
    86. Backstrom - Had to go off the planned attack here and take him.
    107. Hartnell - Hoped I could get him here, liking my forwards so far.
    110. Vrbata - According to plan on this one.
    131. Kreider - NYR is a great team, Kreider is a sick 6th forward here.
    134. Strome - Hope he lines up with JT
    155. Lucic - Points and PIM please
    158. Ramo - Mike Smith went 150th, no starting IR prevention G now.
    179. Niskanen - One of the better D still available
    182. Stalock - One of the last time-share goalies available, will have to decide what to do here.

F: Wheeler, E.Kane, Backstrom, Hartnell, Vrbata, Kreider, Strome, Lucic

Amazing luck for him that OV fell to 5th. Who isn't big on Crosby and Tavares this year, but with 0.5 pts/SOG, how do you not take OV #1?

Looks like Dean is in my league too (Dean II in yours) and has one of the best teams as well; he loaded up on Avalanche players:

F: Hossa, Landeskog, Mackinnon, Sharp, Vrbata, Datsyuk, Iginla, Kesler, Toffoli
    D: Karlsson, Barrie, E. Johnson
    G: Fleury, Bobrovsky, Andersen, Lehtonen

Edit: Just realized the team "Wolves" is in both of our leagues too.

    In my league:
F: Seguin, Hall, Nyqvist, Perry, Schwartz, Oshie, Scheifele, Silfverberg, Nelson
D: Giordano, Pietrangelo, Seabrook, Franson, Jones
    G: Allen, Talbot

    In dooley's league:
F: Crosby, Kessel, Monahan, Eberle, Oshie, Duchene, Schwartz, Stone, Iginla
    D: Burns, Shattenkirk, Barrie, Maatta,
    G: Bobrovsky, Hutchinson, Gibson

Wolves doesnt have great goaltending in either league but he also doesn't have standout F or D either.

in order to play fantasy hockey for a living you would need to join about 60 leagues at $100 per and win all of them haha

    Nice draft dooley.
I must say... Mr. "DEAN" got an effin huge gift basket from the league when they dropped Ovechkin into his lap at #5.
    That's just ridiculous.

You can see he hammered on the G/D heavy drafting after OV.

The nice thing is... it doesn't matter if there is a run away 1st place finisher in H2H.
You just need to be TOP FOUR - and then be ready to pull off the upset in the H2H playoff weeks.

Hopefully Anderson/Hammond split starts for much of the year - and that may hurt him... but my goodness, he's got a truly boss team.
Your team is set-up for 2nd/3rd.

Kind of sucks you had to take Ryan Miller in the 3rd round... but it is what it is... if you pass, you're in the cold for a 2nd goalie - which can be death in a 10-slot WEEKLY league.

    Oh - by the way...
For you, habs7079, and praba... I have a WEEKLY-GRID scheduler to pre-plan to grab some players that will have high GP count for a week.

NYR players are best to target in PART I of the year.
Go to the one-year thread and I'll put it up there.

Yeah I was honestly completely caught off guard by the amount of goalies drafted. Based on the drafts from praba/habs it looked like I could land andersen/schneider/halak/varly or someone around there but oh well. I almost got Mason but Miller-time it is.

When Crosby when first a couple of us said 'lol' in the chat and by the time he got to dean he said 'hand me the money' and took OV lol. Brutal!

I honestly don't think Miller is that much of a disaster in this format. This Vancouver team reminds me a lot of the Calgary teams post-first lockout that retooled their way into a rebuild. Kiprusoff still held a lot of value in my h2h-pts leagues at that time, even when the ratio stats weren't there.

I'm second guessing my strategy too. After best G/D, decided to go for high SOG forwards that were either breakout candidates or streaky scorers, with the plan of streaming while they srteak/are healthy. Missed out on a lot of proven talent and it may come back to bite me if, but hope it will be successful in h2h.

Out of curiousity - how long is the first "week" in your Fantrax leagues?

After seeing Bo Horvat last night, I'm thinking a combination of a NYR/VAN tandem for the 5th forward spot would be slick.

NYR (Brassard or Zuccarello - both likely available) +
    VAN (Horvat)

I would do some early THREE vs. FOUR math on your players, specifically your forwards.

Find out the average "per game" production of your forwards. Multiply by 3.
    Write those numbers down.

Then look at your later-drafted forwards... and speculate on guys like Horvat/Brassard/Zucc. Multiply by 4.

Part of winning this kind of league is planning WELL in advance of each week.

When the Dobber PRO/Entry leagues were "weekly set", I used to pick my players for TWO weeks in advance.
That way I'd grab the best 4-gm per week players off waivers before the week was upon us.

Simply rostering a ton of games is key in this league.
There's gonna be a lot of weeks where simply having a 4-game waiver forward WILL shake out to more points than your 3-game DRAFTED forward.

    Matchups: Period 1 (Wed Oct 7, 2015 - Sun Oct 11, 2015)

    My Roster:

    F: Hartnell (2), Evander (2), Vrbata (2), Wheeler (2), Kreider (3)
    D: Doughty (2), Weber (2), Karlsson (3)
    BN: Backstrom (1), Lucic (2), Strome (2), Niskanen (1).

I could replace Niskanen with Zucc/Brassard, they are both FA, Zucc/Brassard for 3 better than Hartnell/Evander for 2, don't have room to drop 2 unless Backstrom goes IR soon.

This week I am playing the OV owner which is good, 1 game for OV.
His total F/D games if he maximizes is 16, 15 is he plays OV.

My F/D games currently are 18, could be 19 if I swap Niskanen for a NYR player.

    19 Players at 4.0/ppg = 76
    15 Players at 5.0/ppg = 75

GP will make a big difference here, would be hard to produce at a full ppg more than all of your opponents players.
