Not in the same category as the guys you mentioned above, but just a tier down. I see his upside around 65 points but he's still a few years away.
Hello,
I don't hear much about Vrana. Points only, what's a reachable upside for him ? Is he in the same category of guys with hype like Meier, Rantanen, Nylander, Fabbri, Fiala ? Or his value should be under?
Thanks for you help.
Not in the same category as the guys you mentioned above, but just a tier down. I see his upside around 65 points but he's still a few years away.
For me Vrana is underrated a bit around here. I've read he was flying at the prospect camp and he could see NHL action somewhere this year.
I see his upside between 65-70pts. His value should be just under Rantanen, Fiala, etc.
Here is my ranking:
Nylander
Fiala
Rantanen
Fabbri
Meier
Vrana
Points only keeper league
7 teams
28 keepers
Weekly line up: 12 F / 6 D / 2 G
Goalie stats: W=2 / SO=2
Vrana still rated below said players ^^^^ ?

Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt
Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, Brink
G- Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Oettinger

I think it depends on the league setup. He's still near the bottom from that group but hard to put him at the very bottom without all the details.
Keep in mind, those are all some very good prospects so even if he's at or near the bottom, that's not a knock against him and his upside.
Axeman is right, those are all good prospects. As of today, I would put him above Meier.
Nylander
Fabbri

He has been a ppg player in the AHL (albeit a small sample size). This season was cut short in the middle due to wrist surgery but he is back to producing points. He is a little on the smaller side (pun intended I guess) and puts himself in great positions to score goals, while also being able to set them up. Loves to shoot and create plays, is not overly physical.
I'd put his best upside at around 65-75 but he will likely be in the 50-65 point range with an even split on goals and assists.
I would probably put him in the same category and Fiala and Fabbri, with Rantanen and Nylander slightly ahead.

I can't list my 2nd main keeper as there are too many players, but it is a keep all H2H points-only league
I have it exactly like this. 60 pt upside, which these days is just fine. Still 3 years away from anything close to 60 though.. I expect one season of 35+ with two of 42+ and depending on ice time etc. a chance a better numbers, but not before at least 2 years. Magical surprises can always happen, but I don't expect anything over the low 40s for the first few years of regular NHL action for Vrana.

what is vranas upside? 60-70 pts? i keep hearing good things about him
I think the issue with Vrana right now will be opportunity. That's a deep Caps team and I can't se him getting in that top six for at least another season or two
Experience is the teacher of all things.
He'll be spending the majority of time in Hershey unless there is an injury in the Capitals' top six.
However, I strongly believe he'll be a full-time NHL'er in 2017-18 when Williams comes off the books. He was great in the short time he played last season and even better during the Bears playoff run. He's an underrated player who has very strong skills.
Looking at the initial question posed 11 months ago, I'd go:
Nylander
Fabbri
Vrana
Rantanen
Fiala
Meier
*I really like Rantanen as a player but think his ceiling is slightly lower than Vrana's while his floor is higher. Coin flip those two.
