    Default Terrible goalies remaining

    League in sig.

Long story short, I didn't have a pick for the first 5 rounds this year. As a result, only terrible goalies are left to pick from. I need 2.

    Ramo
    Hutchinson
    Ward
    Lack
    Smith
    Khubodin
    Darling
    Raanta
    Neuvrith
    Hutton
    Scrivens

Some of the goalies are obviously good, but in a time share situation.

Which two would you aim for? I'm thinking Ramo + Hutchinson and then try and grab one of the good backups later just to be safe.

Mike Smith is the only bona fide #1 goalie left so I think you have to take him.

How long do you have? Both Carolina goalies are left so you could see how camp goes... hopefully one emerges

I'm not entirely sure how the "L" category works. Does that mean you lose a point for every loss. If so, it sounds like you're better off with a goalie on a time share on a decent team than with a clear #1 on a terrible team.

Assuming that's correct, I think Ramo and Hutchinson is the right call.

You know what, I missed that. With L as a category, I don't touch Smith. Agree on Ramo and Hutchinson. Raanta might be a good option since NYR have the 2nd most B2B games in the league and obviously are an elite team.

What's the minimum number of starts per matchup?

    3 start minimum.

I have about 4 picks left until it's my turn

Even with losses as a category, I think you need to get Smith. I would probably go with Ramo as well.

    Smith is so awful though

I think Ramo is a safe bet.

True, but I don't think he's nearly as bad as he showed last year. Plus, you need the starts. I can't say with much certainty you will get three starts per week with some sort of combo of the others.

That is a rough list for sure, but I agree that you may as well roll with a starter.

Smith and Ward for me - I think Ward gets the starter's gig and Carolina won't be horrible.

Hmmm... 3 starts min. Makes it tough.

    I'd say you're ****ed.

But I guess I'd go Ramo and Smith, then.

I think Smith might be worse without Yandle around. If it's possible.

Anyone think Lack steals a bunch of starts? If he's the better goalie, CAR is going to play him in Ward's walk year

I prefer Lack's chances over Ward's but it's really impossible to tell. If you go Ramo and Lack, you may not get your 3 starts I would think.

You could go Lack AND Ward. That way you at least get every Carolina start, which I would think is usually 3 per week (might want to check). but I don't expect Carolina to be much better than Arizona. Marginally better, but not by much.

I wonder if Ramo/Lack/Hutchinson gets it done every week.

You can tell I'm doing my best to stay away from Ward and Smith but I may not have a choice!

Why not trade for a bonafide starter and draft the best backup there (Ramo).

I may end up doing this. Some guys have 3 goalies for some reason and they haven't finished drafting Forwards or Dmen. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense with our setup, but that's not my fault One guy has Fleury, Varlamov and Jake Allen. I'm looking at him right now.
