In regards to the deflategate, the NFL hasn't even been able to prove that one of the rules was deliberately violated, let alone who was the 'responsible' party.
I personally enjoy the fact that the NFL is looking bad after their case has been shown to have less in it than it should... of course we could start throwing accusations of improper conduct and then have an 'impartial' report issued to confirm our allegations. But that might be a little on the nose in the irony department

I was just going to write that. I never understood how Brady was suspended 4 games for an infraction that carries a 25K fine.

As an engineer, I never understood how the NFL had any information to justify any form of punishment on the Patriots or Brady. I mean, they were never able to confirm which gauges were used to test the footballs at which point in time, and the only conclusion they came to states 'more probably than not he was generally aware'. They have absolutely zero scientific leg to stand on here. You would be fired immediately if you presented an argument or report like that one in my line of work.

The "more probable than not he was generally aware" makes me laugh out loud. To me, the NFL is turning into an irritating, pretentious media slut. "more probable than not"? "generally aware?" Seriously?!?!?!
I hate Brady and the Pats, but man am I glad that he came out on top here... for the sake of the league and its players, they needed Goodell to be put in his place with this one.

I guess I'm in the minority on this one. The Patriots cheated on their way to winning a Superbowl. Not took advantage of a loophole, but straight out cheated (and not for the first time: Heck the Ravens gave the Colts the heads up that the Pats like to deflate the football). I wish Brady and the Pats could be held more responsible, not less.
Goodell drives me nuts with his rulings and decisions, but I think when a team straight out cheats, there has to be consequences.

Except that there is zero proof that they cheated.
In fact, most of the science says the deflation observed in the balls was to be expected based on conditions. The NFL railroaded the process and got called on it.
(not saying the Pats haven't done other skeezy things in the past, but this one was pure witch hunt...)
