McDavid drafting position?

I would like to know your opinions on when to draft McDavid?

we all know he will be a superstar..however, assuming it is a keeper and/or dynasty league that is starting this year,

would you pick McDavid at same time as Crosby, Ovechkin, & all?

or would he fall off to something like the 3/4th/5th round, after the Jonathan Toews, etc?

also do you think he is a multi-cat guy? if so, in which categories?

Keeper or dynasty, he goes first, second or third IMO (I would take him right after Sid at number 2)

In a 1-year, he goes in the second round max.

As for the multi-cat aspect, I don't see him as a big hitter or PIM guy but he should get a bunch of FOW, +/- (maybe not the first year) and PPP along with a decent SOG total.

1. Crosby
2. McDavid
3. Tavares

Can't argue with what's been said. This was posted in keeper leagues so if you're drafting a new keeper I see McDavid as top-2, depending with Crosby exact order is about personal risk levels and preference.

In a 1-year league I have him going in the 3rd round.

As far as peripherals go I see a decent number of PIMs and HITs given his top-10 scorer upside. FOWs should be solid simply based on TOI (most young C'S FO% is low but a 19 minute guy at 45% is better than a 12 minute guy at 55%), solid to high number of PPPs long-term.

I've seen two dynasty multi-cat 12 team leagues and McDavid went 2nd overall in both if that helps.

Whether he lives up to it is another question, but that's where he should be taken. I can't see how he doesn't live up to it, but it's certainly worth the risk.

I could also see a few taking Seguin, Benn or Giroux ahead of him. You might even see the odd Price or Karlsson pick ahead of him. Some GMs just won't want to take the perceived risk of a rookie. He could go anywhere from 1st to 10th overall in a new keeper, IMO.

pretty much on the same opinion as you..

i mean, if its a H2H with so many stats, Ovechkin is still king, and I am unsure as to what kind of multi-cat McDavid will be..if he doesn't produce points, he will not provide in any other cat..is that worth a 1st pick? not sure.

Ive drafted 2 new keeper leagues this summer. One multi-cat, one points only. He went 1st overall in both.

In a keeper league I would pick him 1st. One year, 15 to 20th.
