Domi+ vs 5th overall+

Deep 20 player points only, new team with 5th overall entry and FA picks. Definite rebuilding project. 12F, 6D, 1G with 2RF, 1RD. I will not be competing for a few years, weak on both sides.

I've been offered Domi and Ristolainen for 5th overall entry, 5th overall FA

When you say new team do you mean you're taking over a team and it's new to you or it's an expansion team? It doesn't sound like an expansion team by the way you're talking but I thought I'd check.

Since it's not the league in your signature we need some more information. How many teams? Who do you expect to be available with the 5th FA pick? I think that's the make or break piece here. Domi is likely better than any prospect you could hope for at 5 (assuming 2015 prospects only) but it depends on who is available among the FAs. If Ristolainen is comparable to someone you might get with that pick then it's probably worth it. Even if he's a bit worse than whoever's at 5 it's probably worth it because of how close Domi is and how solid he seems to be. If you let us know that bit of information the advice you get will be a lot more accurate.

Sorry for being a bit light on the details. I ended up taking the deal. I took over a team that finished bottom 5 in a 20 team league. The best available guy who may have been available would be Hellybucyk likely, or possibly Panarin or any player not drafted after the first 40 2015 entry players were selected, so no one I would select over Ristolainen. Best forward available was Doan. My teams prospect base is fairly bare (McCann, Honka only noteworthy) so getting an extra pick helps there as well.

In a start 1G league, I like the Domi/Rasmus side.
Hellebucyk (& all other goalies) have depreciated value (relative to other leagues) when there are only 20 starting G spots.
