Who is going to challenge Lehner for the strater's role in Buffalo? The answer: nobody. So if you truly need a third goalie to just "get starts", Lehenr is the obvious choice to me.
Hey guys,
This isn't for the league in my sig.
I currently have Lehtonen as my 3rd goalie (behind Crawford and Varlamov). Lehner is on my farm so I could call him up although his price is a little higher than I'd like it to be (auction style draft).
As of now the only other legitimate options are Hiller and Hammond. Both have question marks so I'm looking for my best option. This is a WEEKLY change so the more a goalie plays the more valuable to me. Third goalies will only really be put in if Crawford/Varlamov are injured or it's something like one team plays 4 games in a week while the others play 1 or 2.
Cats are W, SV%, GAA, SO
Help me rank them for this coming season only:
Hammond (FA)
Hiller (FA)
Lehtonen ($2.5)
Lehner ($5.0)
Thanks in advance!

Lehtonen...he is easily the best name listed in this bunch and Dallas will still lean on him due to familiarity. Niemi is more of an insurance plan, and when you look at Kari's track record, he generally has good bounce back years. He'll get the initial opportunity to run with the gig, I go with him.
I'd go with Lehtonen.
Points only keeper league

Weekly line up: 12 F / 6 D / 2 G

Given what you've said about your 3rd goalie being an insurance plan, and their respective caps, I'd go with Lehtonen. Lehner may get a few more starts but I don't think he'll justify a salary of double Lehtonen, double so given its for a guy who will only be started a few weeks (hopefully) in the year.

I think you should try to get Darling and/or Pickard. As you only need a third goalie for the case that Crawford or Varlamov are injured, having the backup seems to be the best solution.
