Default Decision on Three Top Prospects

Hey all, I'm looking for some
Input on three prospects. Sam Reinhart, Leon Draisaitl and Willy Nylander.

    Scoring is essentially points and +\- (G, A = 3 points. +\-, PPP = 1 SHG = 2)

Who do you like as the player with the highest upside coupled with the best situation to blossom?

    For me it would be:
    1) Draisaitl
    2) Reinhart
    3) Nylander

Just not a big fan of Nylander. Both Draisaitl and Reinhart are going to be stuck behind an elite center (McDavid and Eichel) but they can still become elite 2nd liners who benefit from playing with those elite centers on the PP and by getting easier match-ups. I see both Draisaitl and Reinhart having similar upside but I'd want the guy who gets to play with McDavid.

Of course everything can change if the Oilers trade Draisaitl at some point but even then, Draisaitl is a very good player, so it's a coin flip at that point. Maybe he goes to a team where he can become a 1st liner.

Nylander has probably the best upside long term, but the least chance of getting there. With prospects I like to swing for the fences, so:

    Nylander
    Reinhart
    Draisaitl

The other two will have more competition for playing time, power play minutes, etc. Whereas Nylander seems to be more of a foundational piece for the Leafs if he ever succeeds.

What's the consensus on whether I should deal Foligno for Reinhart/Draisaitl + pick. In our league we start 8 forwards and I already have a solid 9. I could easily grab a 50-60 point forward in the draft, but unlikely to get a top prospect like one of those two guys.

    Thoughts?

I do that in a heartbeat. Foligno had a ridiculous year that he will never repeat (previous high for points was 47). Trade him.

I'm not one who believes he'll significantly regress. There was actually some evidence that supported Johansen playing better with Foligno on the ice yet Foligno's production stayed strong without RyJo.. On my phone so you'll have to wait for a source..

I don't think he's a 70 point player, but a solid 60-65 getting top all around minutes is where I think he'll be for 2-3 years.

That said, I'm the one who is sniffing around the prospects just to negate the risk that's associated with him. That and my already strong crop of forwards

I'm working for a mid 2nd coming back. See how she goes

Draisaitl will more than likely be moved to the wing at some point. I wouldn't be surprised to see them experiment with that in the AHL this year. RNH is signed long term and McDavid is, well, McDavid.

That's how I see it as well. Reinhart will be a centre; no doubt about it. Granted it'll be a #2 centre, but in a league where we count only forwards and not individual positions, i'll always take the centre. That being said, I think Draisaitl as a winger could have huge dividends. Especially if he can play with a pure shooter like Yakupov. Of all the wingers to have, the play-making variety are usually the best (Kane, Voracek, D. Sedin...)

Or he'll be a #1 centre on another team. Win win right?
