Here's our first standings update (Dobber usernames in parentheses - for those missing please let me know):
1 Fisher-Price (robi) 95
2 The Nickel City (clo-clo) 85
3 2toRuutu2toTootooToo (ccsitdown) 79
4 Goner For Connor (Rumble75) 74
5 rattus rattus (Dobber name?)69
6 Vancouver Beavers (jcairns) 64
7 Devil's Backbonino (horrorfan) 62.5
8 Savages (Dobber name?) 57
9 Captain Cangiroux (Pengwin7) 54
10 Bautista's Aura (PensInThree) 47.5
11 The 'Eh' team (Johner) 46.5
12 Cleveland Stammers (TheNugeCooge) 43.5
13 The Jobbers (rooneypoo) 42
I'm going to settle in right around 4th as I am now... sit there all year, let everyone get comfortable in 1st to 3rd. Then BAM. Last week, steal everyone's thunder and surge to 1st.
..At least that's how it's gone down in all of those dreams I have been having.
A few trades this week:
Brian Campbell Fla - D
Jori Lehtera StL - C
Traded to The 'Eh' team
Danny DeKeyser Det - D
Martin Hanzal Ari - C
Traded to Devil's Backbonino
***
David Krejci Bos - C
Chris Kunitz Pit - LW
Traded to The 'Eh' team
David Backes StL - C,RW
Brandon Dubinsky Cls - C,LW
Traded to Cleveland Stammers
***
Karri Ramo Cgy - G
Joni Ortio Cgy - G
Traded to Captain Cangiroux
Zdeno Chara Bos - D
Traded to Cleveland Stammers
By position count, this was an easily sensible trade for both of us.
My team (Captain Cangiroux) is down -7 in goalie starts, with only 18 compared to the 25 pace.
His team (Cleveland Stammers) is up +9 in goalie starts, with already 34 compared to the 25 pace.
I'm not really fan of rostering THREE goalies (Hiller, Ramo, Ortio) just to get 82gp... but ya gotta do what ya gotta do in MaxGP.
The good news for my team is that I've only got 2/12 points in "SV", which (like all) is all about SV/gp because it's a MaxGP league.
I'm actually in the 2nd-4th range in SV/gp... and CGY is still getting shelled... so hopefully I can get my 164+ starts and lock in 10/12 pts in SV.
That would be a +10 spike on my current 57.5pts, raising my to 67.5pts.
Most competitive ROTO leagues require a 85% max score to win.
In a 12x9cat (108) league, that's 92pts (leader currently 90-92pt range)... so I've still gotta make up 25pts from my skaters, Win Ratio, and GAA (which is actually "middling").
Now, if only the Giroux/Voracek combo can get going... cause right now they are stinking it up big time. Maybe I wasn't so lucky to have Voracek fall all the way to me in Round #3 at pick #35 (the latest of all 4 Dobber drafts).
Deceptively, if I can pull up my GoalieGP... I'm really more in the low70s for standings-trajectory.

After a horrific start, Peng's Team of "value-drafted(?)" Back-Up Goalies on Captain Cangiroux is carrying the team.
Notably:
Antti Raanta (NYR). 3gs, 3w, 0l, 0.67gaa, .976sv%. 28sv/g.
Jhonas Enroth (LA). 3gs, 3w, 0l, 0.67gaa, .979sv%. 31sv/g.
Jeff Zatkoff (PIT). 2gs, 2w, 0l, 2.00gaa, .926sv%, 26sv/g.
Couple that with:
Petr Mrazek (DET). 8gs, 5w, 3l, 2.07gaa, .938sv%, 31sv/g.
My 1st goalie has been down for most of year:
Hiller (CGY)
And my traded in goalies:
Ramo (CGY) & Ortio (CGY)
I just need Scott Darling (CHI) to give a few spot wins... and I'll be rolling.
***Yes, you are reading that correctly, I'm carrying eight (8) goalies. And I'm still currently -7gp off pace, yikes!
Currently:
17w (10 of 13pts), 2nd best "win ratio" in league (17/26 = 65% win ratio)
2.17gaa (13 of 13pts), best team GAA!!!
736sv (4 of 13pts), but more importantly, 2nd best "save per game" in league.
Another trade in our league:
My first reaction was "WTF 10 players?!" I'm intrigued on how the negotiations developed.TO Cleveland Stammers
Lars Eller Mon - C,LW
Ryan Callahan TB - RW
Alexander Edler Van - D
Erik Johnson Col - D
Andrei Vasilevskiy TB - G
TO rattus rattus
Brandon Dubinsky Cls - C,LW
Aaron Ekblad Fla - D
Colin Miller Bos - D
Ryan Strome NYI - C,RW NA
Mike Condon Mon - G
There wasn't a huge back and forth in negotiations. I made two separate offers, one with Edler and Johnson and another with Callahan and Vasilevsky. He came back with a counter offer (the trade above). My first reaction was it was a bad deal for me but after looking closer at the numbers I think I upgraded by defense in the last two days without sacrificing too much in offense. Gotta risk it to get the biscuit

Time for another standings update. It's still early, which is one of the few positives I can say about my team so far. It should get better, so hopefully in the coming weeks I'll make some steady progress.
