Cool What is your goalie drafting strategy in a limited keeper

Team and scoring cats in signature. 10 team league, 4 of 11 are goalie cats. Most G/M's keep 2 goalies in our keep 6 format.

Option 1: I have thought of keeping 1 goalie and protecting another skater. Rank the goalies in tiers. Keep a tier 1 and draft a second goalie when the tier 2 start to go. Prior to that I would concentrate on drafting top available players based on our scoring stats.

Option 2: The other option is to keep 2 top tier goalies, draft top available players and don't worry about another goalie until the later rounds.

Option 2 is conservative. Is option 1 suicide? Is there another option ?

What is your drafting strategy or recommendations?

I'm keeping Crosby, Backstrom, Kane, Hall, Hedman, Lundqvist.

So I'm going Option A, drafting skaters, and waiting until goalies in Tier 2 start to go, and I'm waiting it out til near the end of Tier 2.

I'd keep both your top end goalies. A keep 6 of Lundqvist, Rask, Crosby, Backstrom, P. Kane and Hall is fantastic.

I originally misread and thought it was a keep-10.

In a six keeper, go with Lundquist...and take jcairns keepers listed above.

I was in a similar situation and kept my top two elite goalies every year and did very well. Eventually the restriction was put in place to limit it to 1 goalie to keep. If you have the option to keep two (Lund & Rask), I would go with that. That should help your chances in the goalie categories quite significantly and let you stay focused on skaters in the draft (and during the season) as it's much easier to find a skater who does better than expectations and pick up via free agency than a goalie who comes out of nowhere after the season starts. So stay ahead of the curve with two goalies.

I don't see any other option than doing this. The perfect strategy in my opinion. And also, goalies are voodoo. Take Hedman/Hall over Rask. Especially with how the Bruins are looking.

Appreciate the points of view. I have been in this league for 4 years now. Each year keeping two top tier goalies.
Last year Rask and the Bruins did not play up to projections and Lundy missed time with an injury. The result for me was poor goalie stats.

Most have suggested keeping Hedman. Currently I'm trying to acquire another top forward which would push Hedman out .
