Just dont see the Jays giving a long term deal to a SP. They usually dont,,, 4 yrs maybe 5 max.

At the end of the day, he's an upgrade to anything in that rotation right now. I am glad they went out and got him. At least they can't say AA sat on his ass, pulling his pud at the trade deadline this year.

It's only a one-year business decision to spend max money. Would still have Donaldson and Tulo as your cornerstones just as it was Bautista and EE last year.

    I think they sign him.

good point. Ricky romero is off the books next year..

the Jays will exercise those two options. I believe Bautista is $14M and EE $10M

Sad to see Norris go, has a lot of potential. But love these moves. I wanna see Blue Jays playoff baseball more then anything in sports(besides Oilers playoffs)
And like bondo said, they still have Stroman and Sanchez as young arms.

Ricky Romero is the biggest one hit wonder in the history of baseball. Amazing how far and how quickly that guy fell from grace.

Playoffs rotation: Price, Dickey, Buerhle, Hutch (assuming they drop to a 4man unit) not bad...

I like that order too. Split up the 2 lefties. I think I prefer Dickey 2nd to have his knuckler right after Price. Hutch is a disaster on the road too.

Price: 3.13 career ERA. In the American league.
    That's impressive.
estrada is pretty good man. He's been better than hutch as a whole. Hutch is great at home (2.21era) but terrible away (9era). if they can schedule hutch at home, that's massive. Estrada is like 3.9 on the road.

This is so true. Theirs a tendancy to forget that when thinking about giving up Norris and Hoff.

Today would be Price’s prep day for his regularly schedule Sunday start. If he’s at todays game (99% chance he will be) he’ll be starting Sunday. Only way I see him not getting to Toronto this AM would be Work Visa issues, and/or delayed flights. But the weather is nice and Tulo had no issue with any visa (if baseball even is the same as the NHL).

I typed this up, and then checked David Price’s twitter. He’s driving from Detroit to Toronto. And he blew a tire on his way here lol. AA better have that big garbage bag of popcorn waiting for him in the dressing room like he asked

Somewhere on the road from greater Detroit to Toronto, the automobile of new Blue Jays left-hander David Price encountered significant tire trouble. To make matters worse, Price's own engine is having digestive issues. Price used Twitter to report from the road:
