Ever see him at a 1st team PP guy or shutdown guy?

It's hard to say. He can't stay healthy long enough to show us either.

Seriously though, I don't see him as a PP1 type of player, maybe PP2. I see him as a solid two-way guy with SOME PP abilities, but I don't see him as the key guy running their PP.

More of a Shutdown guy, stay away unless he is free and you have an open spot.

Oops I see you already have him stashed....if you can keep him down there, you may eventually see what he has to offer if he can play a full season.

More 2 way defenseman than PP specialist with some offensive upside. He has that unlucky health bug, but needs just one season to buck that stigma.

Not a PP specialist. Even in the WHL he wasn't a top point producer. He'll be more of a secondary scorer if he ever manages to put it together.

I see him as an Olli Maatta kind of player, if his many injuries don't destroy his career. Steady home, with 30-35 points potential.

With Johnson, Savard and Werenski in the system, I see Murray as a PP2 option AT BEST. That's if he can stay on the ice for any period of time.

I would say... think Ryan Suter currently (minus 30 games a season it seems like). Plays 25+ mins a game but only averages between 25-35 points, and you wonder to yourself "how can he not get more points playing so much?"

Hopefully he stays healthy so we can see what he actually can do

I agree that Ryan Murray will become just like Ryan Suter but let's get the numbers right, Ryan Suter has been over 35 points in each of the last 7 NHL seasons (32 in 48 games in the lockout year).

Murray played for a really bad team in junior and put good (not great) offensive numbers. I think his offense is a bit underrated. And for me, between him, Johnson and Savard the PP1 is wild open.

But I agree with the Suter comparison his upside is not that high.

The Suter comp is very good. If he can ever stay healthy and put his game together, Murray has the potential to be a minute munching top pair guy. But he's just so vanilla.... I don't think anyone will ever be excited to draft Murray, but at the end of the year they'll take the 40 points or so and be happy.

But the injuries are a major problem... He hasn't played a full season in like 5 years.
