I think I will come to regret my Reilly Smith trade, but I hope not.

I sure lament the fact that Carl Soderberg (!!!) managed to go for Brayden Point AND a 1st. Having to get my moves done a few days before the deadline sure seemed to hurt me.

I don't think I over paid for Soderberg.

If you look at where Soderberg was drafted (9th - 190) compared to where I picked up Brayden Point (26th - 610).
My first round pick will probably be around 16th overall which is probably around where the talent start to drop off.

At around close to a point a game Soderberg may not be the sexiest of names, but he is pretty decent piece.
Plus at a pretty scarce position, he ranks 25th overall for LW.

I'm not saying you overpaid. I'm saying I undernegotiated. It was meant as a negative towards myself, not to you. Apologies.

Soderberg will contribute immediately, and for the next few years. Point and the 1st won't be for awhile. Success of trades depend on what your strategy is - if you are rebuilding, you expect to wait but if you are going for it, you don't want to wait - this year or the next few years.

I see it as a trade that works for both teams.

Again, it was more of a point of comparison to a trade I made, than any comment towards the quality of that trade. Didn't mean to incite anyone, I think it was a decent trade for both teams. I just think mine maybe wasn't haha.

Wow what luck to have alternating dates of Luongo/Talbot fit sooo perfectly. Makes me sick!

This is my only team to make the playoffs this season so my mental stability relies on its success.

Love the playoff format Pengwin designed for this league - particularly being that teams not going for the league championship are going for increased draft lottery odds. Lots of active GMs making adjustments into the post-season. Great to see.

They were even close on the point total (8 points over actual). That said, as mentioned most teams made a good number of trades. My team def. looks a bit different.

Have a look at the attached. What I did was do a comparison of the fantasy hockey geek projections vs. our actual projections for points scored. I totaled up everything and it turns out that the total points scored in our league overall was 12% less than what fantasy hockey geek projected. Interesting, right?

Anyways, then I applied a 12% "reduction factor" on all teams projections from fantasy hockey geek and then compared those "adjusted projections" to our actual scores. I wanted to do this because I wanted to take away the effect of an overall decrease/increase in league scoring from our performance vs projections.

Figured I'd share. Sorry if the view is bad.

    ^Awesome work.
My favourite part of fantasy hockey is the projections vs. actual.
Picking the players that will exceed what you invested in them is what makes most teams into winners!
    Thanks for sharing.

As for those teams still alive (12 of our 24)... good luck to you guys in semi-finals and finals!
Should be some super exciting matches!!!
