Just as an FYI, I've emailed Fantrax support to ask when we can expect the salary numbers to be updated. I told them it was hard to make trades without knowing how much players are making and how close to the cap teams are.

    I'll post something here when/if I get a response.

12-team Keeper pool, straight points for forwards & dmen. Goalies get: 2 points per win, 3 per shutout, 1 point per assist & 1 point per shootout loss.

    League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.

Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.

We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.

Forwards: Panarin, Ovechkin, Kopitar, Stamkos, Tuch, Rust, Marchessault, Pavelski, Miller, Bertuzzi, Stone, Kakko, Brown, Stankoven, Kovalenko
Defence: Hedman, Fox, Matheson, Thrun, Jiricek

    Heard back from Fantrax:

"They were updated last week. Your commissioner would need to regenerate salaries."

Why on earth would they not send out a mass email to commissioners as soon as they update?

    I just regenerated salaries.
    Everybody is under $100m.
praba & newf both up around $98m.
    mcmackerel is at $95m.
    pengwin7 at $93m.
    seadawg at $90m.

Teams will still be allowed to carry up to $110m until October 1st.
On that date, max cap for 25-active-PRO players will go to $100m to be legal roster.
(I don't believe IR "red-flag" players count towards that.)

    Onwards season ho!

Question about this cap hit stuff:

Have an example, don't know what team he is on, dont really care, just an example:

Kris Versteeg - 4 yr contract signed in 2012

    3.6 mill
    4.6 mill
    4.7 mill
    4.7 mill

Says his Cap hit is 4.4 million dollars.

Currently in Fantrax his cap hit is 2.2 million for Chicago - this is because Florida retained half of his salary.

so the question is, shouldnt we be including the retained salary? That IS the full cap hit of the player. Versteeg is getting paid by two teams at 4.4 million.

Chicago is only hit for 2.2, why should a team that owns in him fantasy be hit for the 4.4?

This is my first salary league, so I'm by now means a pro, but that just seems a bit weird.

Florida is hit for 2.2 million of Versteeg's salary as well. We just ignore that?

Seems to me the contract he signed should be the cap hit. All of the cap hit still counts in the NHL, it's not like half of it just disappeared.

    Fair enough.

I guess I just don't see how that's easily managed.

Is it possible for us to make trades where other teams retain salary? If not then I think then we should just go with what Fantrax generates as their salary.

Or (provided this is an option) we could just manually adjust the salaries of players this applies do. I don't really see how being able to make trades that retain salary in the WHL has any bearing on how we interpret NHL cap hit.

    versteeg's cap hit is 2.2
    versteeg's AAV is 4.4

our league is going by cap hits, fantrax doesnt even support AAV anyways

same reason why rookies and vets aren't being charged for their bonuses....i.e mackinnons AAV would be like 3M+ but instead he only counts for .9M (cap hit) or something like that.

so back to the original point, versteeg should be getting 2.2M.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't 2.2 million of Versteeg's cap hit count against the cap for the Panthers as well?
