Two Leagues, Same Managers (H2H / Roto)

Hey guys,

A group of buddies and I are starting two one year leagues this year, same 10 managers, two different leagues (H2H and Roto).

We are most likely going to use the same categories in both leagues, $25 buy in per league. Roto winner gets $250, H2H Regular Season gets $200 (playoff winner $50).
The only thing we have been going back and forth about is the draft order, couple different ideas on it wondering if you have any similar experiences?

1. Random draft order for both leagues
2. Reverse order (If you get 1st in one league, you get 10th in the other)
3. Random draft order until the top 3 from one league are different than the first league.
4. Random draft order unless the same guy picks 1st in both leagues.

I personally don't really care but with only 10 of us it's hard to come to a decision, wondering if you have any thoughts/experiences?

re: Draft Order.

1st - Do a (randomized) "draft" for "draft order selection".
2nd - Write out both leagues 10 draft slots. 20 total slots. Teams select their draft slots, down then back up. (Just like selecting players, but two rounds of "Draft Slot" selection.)


Essentially, whoever wins the "draft order selection" draft... gets to select their draft slot in either H2H or Roto.

For example.
Team A selects #1 slot for ROTO.
Team B selects #1 slot for H2H.
Team C may select... #2 slot for ROTO.
Team D may select... #3 slot for ROTO.
Team E may select... #10 slot for H2H!!! (maybe this guy likes having back-to-back picks)
...
etc, etc, down to Team J... then Team J makes his 2nd (11th overall) slot choice... back up
...
Team B may have choice between #8 in H2H and #9 in H2H.
Team A left with whatever draft slot remains... say... #9 in H2H.


You could have a lot of fun with draft order selection.
(I had come up with this for a potential "Champions League" Roto/H2H concept... though I'm not sure if we'll still do it or not...)

i'd probably just get the guys to focus on just one league. last year i joined two different money pools with mostly the same managers in both. half way through the season the managers were just focusing on their teams in the league that they were doing better in. better to have one good league than two iffy ones. if you're sure everyone will be active even if they suck then by all means have two leagues, but from experience it wouldnt surprise me to see your league need replacements next summer, maybe even mid season. good luck, sounds like fun though!

We have a 'don't give up fee' that you pay at the beginning and get back at the end of the season if you set your lines and stay active haha!
Everyone seems interested in doing the two leagues so I'm hoping we make it through the season lol!

I guess it really doesn't matter at all does it? Or does it..... lol

Well I will be drafting here in the following leagues:
H2H: 6th out of 8
Roto: 3rd out of 8
