TyJo+ for RyJo+

I've been trying to land Ryan Johansen and Landeskog from another GM. This is what he offered me:

for
T. Johnson and Byfuglien

I'm not feeling this trade honestly, I don't like getting rid of Byfuglien in that deal. I just wanted to know what you guys think about it. My team right now looks like:

C: Kopitar, Stepan
LW: Hall, Ladd, Palat, Kunitz
RW: Kessel T. Johnson (C)
D: Karlsson, Byfuglien (RW), Carlson, Wideman
G: Holtby, Andersen, Gibson, Allen


12 team 17 Player Yahoo Roto Keeper League - Keep 10
Start 2C, 2LW, 2RW, 4D, 2G
Score settings: G, A, +/-, PPP, SHP, GWG, Hits, BS, W, GAA, Sv%, SO

My 10 keepers probably are:
C: Kopitar, T. Johnson (RW)
LW: Hall (C)
RW: Kessel
D: Karlsson, Byfuglien (RW), Carlson
G: Holtby, Andersen

-With the 10th keeper probably being Ladd or Palat, or possible Allen, but probably a LW.


So as I see it, if i'm not sending Ladd back his way, acquiring Landeskog is kind of a waste because I already have Ladd and the trade in my opinion looks like a 2 for 1, T. Johnson and Buf for RyJo.


Would you make this deal? What if I countered with:
T. Johnson and Ladd
for
Johansen and Landeskog

As the RyJo and Landy owner... I'd chuckle while I hit the "DECLINE" button.

IMHO... TyJo and Buff for RyJo and Landy is quite a fair and balanced hockey deal. Just depends on which side you'd rather be on.

I'd rather keep big buf but that's me. With hits and blks I'm all for him.

Ofcourse landy adds those stats I believe but I perfer big buf

I'd be keeping Byfuglien if I were you. Not only is he better at hits and blocked shots, but he's also a keeper defeseman for you. If you trade him, then you need to get yourself at least two more defensemen, seeing as Wideman isn't a keeper.

To me, this decision is dictated by your team rules. If you start 4D then Byfuglien is huge in your league. He's not someone I'd part with just to get Landeskog.

I appreciate that you're after RyJo and Landy but the first deal is at best a sideways one for you. As you've already noted, Ladd pretty much provides Landy-lite numbers (or better)... and it would be very tough to replace Buff's numbers. The deal's pretty "fair" for sure in terms of output - but it hurts your D too much to make sense imo.

TyJo and Ladd for them? Sure, I can see you coming out ahead in that deal. Not sure the other GM will be very interested though.

As others have said, I think you have to keep Buff out of the convo as what he brings in a setup like yours is really tough to find.
