I do not know much on him except for his solid year this past season. It wasn't really mentioned but the Sens did make a move to get him and they already had 3 solid goalies.
That and the fact that they were comfortable in moving their youngest tender in Lehner lets me beleive that he can be an NHL goalie with starter potential in the next few years.
Guess the big test will be to see how he does in the A this year!

He's looked very polished at dev camp. Very athletic and looks more technically sound than Ben Bishop when he was here. they play similar games, Oconnor is just a bit shorter. He has an excellent glove hand. Don't think he's far away from the NHL but he wants to develop in the AHL.
Out of this draft class I would take him first no doubt. he's closer than everyone else and besides Samsonov all goalies are crapshoots. Samsonov is a crapshoot as well, and if he stays on Washington he has holtby in his way. I wouldn't bother with goalies who were just drafted no matter how good they are as prospects.

Considering goalies are voodoo, I would say after Samsonov for the draft class for sure, but then things get murky afterwards. Perhaps draft him around the time you would take Blackwood. Basically late second / early third round is where I would draft him, unless goalies are very important to your league then go earlier

Draft O'Connor first if you plan to use the goalie that you draft. Samsonov is several years away but could be a great trade chip especially around WJC time.

I just traded him in my keeper league for a second rounder / 12 team league so it equates to 17th overall

Yes, O'Connor and driedger next year with Marcus Hogberg in Sweden. He looks a lot like Lehner.

very, very close. fwiw i read something by an NCAA watcher who had Gillies above O'Connor, but i can't remember where or how i'd track that down again so you could read it.
