Good enough to pay $3.75M a year for the next four years but not good enough to crack the team's lineup in the two most important games of the season. Makes no sense to me.

I liked the guy the first few times I saw him.
Now I'm starting to wonder if he's the 2nd coming of Michael Grabner.

I agree w/chuck... this price seems a bit steep for me.
    Goals aren't everything.

Very strange signing. I am completely shocked at both the term and the money. It didn't seem to me that the Islanders were all that impressed by him, given the way they treated him in the playoffs.

I thought he was pretty decent myself, but I honestly didn't expect them to offer him more than a one or two year deal at maybe $1.5 million AAV.

This really makes me wonder what Nelson will sign for, considering it seemed to me that the Islanders are higher on him.

I was hoping to see him sign cheaper for selfish reasons but at this price it's guaranteed he gets big minutes.

It's expensive at 4 years, but maybe he'll be worth it and more. I like him as a player.

Good deal. Better than the Stafford signing.

Wasn't he second on the team in goals? He's not a perfect player, and the coach still doesn't trust him.... I'm a little surprised by the contract, but it should work out.

I hope you're right, would love to see him stick in the top 6. If he does this could be a sweet deal 2 yrs from now.

Chris Capuano is a bit of a strange bird. Some of his roster decisions are questionable IMHO. Sitting Lee for critical games falls under this modus operandi.
The Islanders have finally turned the corner and this deal is just another indicator they have done so. Thank goodness they are out of that atrocious barn/parking lot in the 516. Brooklyn is a real city and the team will benefit from having really passionate fans. Eventually I think Rangers fans will have great difficulty getting tickets to see the Rangers Islanders games at Barclays. All the better for Islander fans as its been a LONG LONG dry spell. 1982 is getting to the point where many of the fans were not even born yet.
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

That's Jack Capuano...I knew Chris was wrong, but I googled "Dave Capuano", lol!! I agree that he is a strange bird. If they don't go far in the playoffs this year, I can see him getting canned.

I still wonder if he wasn't hurt from the ass whoopin' he got from Wilson.....could be part of the reason for the benching, maybe???? I think that deal should have been made at 3 yrs, 2.5-3mill.But it does lock up another piece of the young core and it's not a horrible #. Lots of room for improvement from him.
