He’s a bizzaro Grevais, which is nice because he was slow, couldn’t move laterally or vertically around the court, he was ‘short’, and his defense was terrible. This guy is tall, smooth moving, great defense, mature, and he is athletic.

The big thing on this was, they get a PG that replaces GV as a backup down the line (still need a legit backup right now). Wasn’t GV traded prior to their pick? So they traded him away, and then picked someone to replace him. And the point of the GV trade was to open up cap space for the big FA period in 2016-17.

I don't watch a lot of basketball but I enjoy watching drafts for some reason.

It was nice for a change to hear the Raptors pick and not be followed by a resounding "what?" from the announcers. It would appear that the majority of the so called "experts" actually thought this was a good pick for the Raptors and not someone from left field, like they have been known to do in the past; go off the board so to say.

10 Team, Points Only, Cash League

25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
    Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt

Stamkos, Tavares, JaBenn, Couture, Wheeler, Lee, Turris, Steen, Letang, Kucherov, Byfuglien, Burns, Zuccarello, Hoffman, JSchwartz, Fabbri, Shattenkirk, KPalmieri, KConnor, BNelson, Konecny, Bjorkstrand, Ladd

    G- Vasilevskiy, Bobrovsky

When your off-the-board picks include this guy...

...you are right to be relieved that they didn't go off the board.

I don't know who that is (as I say, I don't watch a lot of basketball) but I assume he was one of those 1st round gaffs by the Raptors.

    Rafael Araújo

The Toronto Raptors selected Araújo with the eighth pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, making him the first college senior drafted that year. His NBA career was mostly disappointing with him seeing limited action as a rookie, averaging 3.3 points and 3.1 rebounds in 12.5 minutes per game
I still cringe thinking about that draft, i really wanted them to take Iguodala.

I remember when the pick was made just about everyone fell out of their seats.
