My team is in my signature, I have the third pick in our draft no one available in our free agent pool is a better option then the top five available players in this
draft so assume only draft entry players, also assume whoever I draft doesn't play a prime role until 2016-17 who do I pick and if you could, a comment as to why you think that
thank you , have a great draft and free agency period and enjoy the summer

By your SIG, this is a 9F/4D league... so forwards should be valued higher.
    I also see a heavy-weight on points.
You want a forward that will play PP and rack up points.

Personally, I'm not taking Hanifin as it should be a while before he reaches a PP for any of ARI, TOR, or CAR.
I think it's one of Strome/Marner. I think Marner, being of smaller stature and possibly getting wing time, will have the smoother transition to the NHL.
Strome seems (from what I read) to be a future center... and he's a big guy... and big-framed guys... and young centers (Strome being both)... often have very bumpy roads/adjustments to the NHL.
[As somebody that grew up in Red Wings country, and as a Flyers fan, an example is Keith Primeau - the #3 overall pick in the 1990 entry draft. It was his 4th year, age 23, when he finally busted-out for 73pts in 78gp.)

If either of those (Strome/Marner) gets selected by ARI... I'd go with that player.
ARI lacks so much talent, that I think their selection will rise quickly to the NHL... faster than TOR pick will. (since TOR is a cap spending team that may stock talent in the FA market).

If ARI takes a forward, I'm taking that guy.
    If ARI drafts Hanifin... then...
I look to whoever CAR/NJ/PHI has drafted and pick the guy that could rise to a PP the fastest.

Probably Mitch Marner in points-heavy league... though Strome (if ARI) might be my pick just out of opportunity.

Assuming the obvious, McDavid and Eichel go 1-2 you are looking at Marner or Strome there. Personally I prefer Strome by a hair.

As Pengwin said, you gotta go with a forward here. I would give Strome the upper hand just for his all-around game.

However, there's one thing that bugs me and that is if the Coyotes draft Marner 3rd overall.... That would give them a potential line of Domi-Marner-Dvorak down the road, which is the same line that dominated the OHL this year... Not sure their Knights success will translate as well in the NHL, but the chemistry is there!

I think Strome is the easy choice in a league that counts all the peripheral categories (FOWs, hits, etc.). But Marner has the higher offensive upside, I think.

Marner's offensive ability outweighs Strome's, IMO, he has the potential to be the next Perry/Kane.

It's definitely not an easy choice though - good luck!

Hmm... sorry... 6F/4D... well damn, that definitely shifts weight back to D-men.
    Ugh.
Dang... I'd probably like to see where the D-men get drafted.
Over the years, I feel like D-men emerge a little faster on weaker teams.
With D-men... the PP unit they join is important.

Hanifin's stock is back up in 6F/4D...
I'm torn now (sorry bout that).

This is an easy Marner pick for me.

Were your D not as decent as they are, I would go Hanifin, but I really like your young D corps and you look to be set on the back end for quite some time.

I think Marner will be the top point producer beyond Connor and Jack, so for your cats, he'd be my choice.

I'd be taking Marner quite easily. Stromes PPG was in Barzal territory while mcdavid was hurt, which I'd say is because he wasn't as good when he had to face the other teams top pairing. Marner just has that it factor and is oozing elite offensive potential.

Well, if you want to analyze strength of roster / linemates, you have to give Marner a slight knock for playing alongside a guy like Dvorak all season, while playing behind Max Domi - one of the best players in junior. Strome performed very well without McDavid, and that's a good sign because there was basically nobody else to shoulder the load. With the Knights, their roster was incredibly deep. Looking at P/60 Strome actually has a slight edge.
