surprised he's still working this upcoming season. hopefully that means his health has improved and he wants to take things easy after this season.

Honestly, I was surprised to hear about him coming back this year too. Good on him for keeping busy.

I'm with you, here's hoping his health is holding steady.

Cancer in remission? No reason to stop working. One of the best things to do!

Maybe now the karma police will finally allow the Sens to start winning in the playoffs. Since the team ousted Muckler (a week after the team went to the finals in 2007: so eight seasons now and counting) in favour of Bryan Murray, the Sens have won one playoff round win, 12 total playoff victories, and is now on their sixth coach and seventh-ish starting goaltender.

Writer of the weekly Top 10 column.

12-team Keeper pool, straight points for forwards & dmen. Goalies get: 2 points per win, 3 per shutout, 1 point per assist & 1 point per shootout loss.

    League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.

Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.

We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.

Forwards: Panarin, Ovechkin, Kopitar, Stamkos, Tuch, Rust, Marchessault, Pavelski, Miller, Bertuzzi, Stone, Kakko, Brown, Stankoven, Kovalenko
Defence: Hedman, Fox, Matheson, Thrun, Jiricek
Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid

There are those warrior-type players like Callahan, Backes and Gallagher that just go into a game and give it their all; injured or not, winning or losing.

Murray has done something similar for the Sens, with his health issues and the limitations in Ottawa; he has stuck with the team through thick and thin and has shown great determination in trying to help steer this franchise.

As a die-hard Habs fan, I raise my hat to this man and hope that his efforts bring the deserved success to this team in the near future.

I'm not familiar with their front office staff. Do the Sens have someone in their front office brass that will call most of the shots with Murray at his side for this final year of Murray being around? Someone they'll groom along the way or the Sens look outside for a GM replacement nexts season?

It's a good day when I read a story about someone dealing with cancer making plans for down the road. Here's to him getting to enjoy retirement after a lengthy and influential career.

I remember watching Murray a few times on television last year. As horrible as this is to say, there were times when I thought he looked in really rough shape, and I was saddened thinking that he might not have much time left. Cancer is horrific and the sad fact is, that most of us have felt its brutality. I cannot tell you how happy this news makes me. I hope for a long and happy life for him.

That would be fourth starting goalie and fifth coach. John Muckler truly ruined the team's foundation going forward and they are now just seeing Murrays vision.

I feel bad for a guy like Murray and his family, they have endured a lot already.. I hope nothing but the best for him and I'm cheering for the Sens to play for BM this year!!

Coaches: Paddock, Murray, Hartsburg, Clouston, MacLean, Cameron. If you don't include Murray, then it's five coaches. With him, it's six.

Starting goalies: Anderson, Leclaire, Elliott, Gerber, Emery, Auld. That's six there, and if you believe Lehner or Hammond will be the starter this season, that's seven.

He signed a 4yr deal in 2014 (I think), and just finished his 1st yr of that deal. There was a clause in his contract where he would be the GM for 2yrs, then step back as an advisor for the final 2. This is just him completing his clause.
