I'm looking to shore up my offence and saves and keep my very tenuous hold on First place this year.

It's a keeper league and give away a potential stud keeper in Pederson. But having Trout and Rosie would be very helpful this year...

Is that trade on the table? Because that is ridiculous. The Trout side is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the other side. I wouldn't trade Trout alone for Pederson and Keuchel, let along getting Rosenthal in the deal. Pederson is off to a hot start, but you have an incredibly limited sample size on which to judge him. Trout has proven to be the best over a couple of years now. Unbelievable.

Agreed. It's the Keeper value that plays here. Trout can't be a keeper in our league (drafted in the first 3 rounds), but Pederson definitely can. I'm playing to win this year and he's playing for future years as he's down at the bottom for this year...

ohhhhhhhhhh. I totally missed that fact in your sig. Now it makes some more sense. Becomes a tougher scenario, for sure. I'm not familiar enough with baseball to make a great call, but from my hockey knowledge, if you are pretty confident about winning after making this trade, then I'd probably do it. Are you able to get him to throw in a decent draft pick or a nice prospect? 'Trout isn't keepable', 'I'm giving you Pederson for free', you say to him...maybe he'll feel bad for you :P

This will help you win this year but make no mistake Pederson is stud and he should be valued similar to George Springer.
Keuchel is also legit and right around a top 20 starting pitcher.
This is fair value for Trout but it`s not a take a run trade when considering the keeper rules in your league.

Trade got vetoed... but only because we broke the rules. No trading top 3 rounds with any picks involved - this is to protect against lopsided trades and dumping for picks. We had set it up as Pederson, Keuchel and my 4th round next year for Trout, Rosie and his 6th. Got vetoed. In the ten minutes the trade was active, commissioner got 3 complaints.
There have been some stupid trades this year and I actually thought this was pretty balanced. The way our stats are counted, 10 pitchers were equal or more valuable than Trout last year. Nevertheless, it made me reconsider the trade as I really really didn't want to give up Pederson. I have him and Springer and they will be on my team for a long long time!
