    Default Thoughts on this offer

    Hello AGAIN ;-)

During my most recent trade talks, another GM contacted me with a very interesting offer.

I would be giving Blake Wheeler (who i value very high), John Gibson (who is my insurance for F. Andersen), Anthony Duclair and Adam Larsson

I would get Zach Parise, Nick Bjugstad, Tomas Tatar and Malcolm Subban.

    Is this a no-Brainer?

It would leave me short on RW and a downgrade in G - prospects. + i donīt really need Bjugstad since i already have Getzlaf, Tavares, MacKinnon, Granlund, Nugent-Hopkins and Barkov at C

Thanks again for your Opinion on this.

Itīs for the league in my signature

    It's not a deal I would do.

It's of course very enticing for you to land Parise. I love Bjugstad also but he's redundant on your team. This trade does not make your team better IMO.

You should actually try to move a center for an upgrade at LW.

If I'd have to grade your team by position I'd go like this:

    Center : A+
    LW: C-
    RW: Between B and B+
    D: A
G: B+ (You have 3 starters in a 14 team league, plus your categories are quantity based and not quality based, the more the merrier here)

Deal from a position of strength to improve your weaknesses.

This is definitely not a no-brainer. Honestly, I can't really say for sure what I would do in this situation. I'd need to think about it for a while before deciding.

    I think:

    Wheeler > Parise
    Gibson < Tatar
    Larsson < Bjugstad
    Duclair > M. Subban

Personally, I like Wheeler more than Parise, but if you like Parise then you definitely want to make this deal.

As it stands, even though I like Wheeler more, it is still something I'd consider. I quite like Tatar and Bjugstad and think they are in a position to succeed. I think it will take quite a while for Duclair to produce, and as much as I like Larsson and think he will have a good year next year, with Carlson, OEL, Fowler, and Hamilton, you are already fairly set at defense.

Given your depth at centre, Bjugstad becomes irrelevant making what might be considered at first glance a good deal for you, a "no deal" if you want to be the "winner" of the trade.

I like the Wheeler side better.. I think you can get more for Gibson, even after how good Andersen has been playing.. M.Subban could be had pretty cheap I'm sure right now..

I think if he accept this deal, he "wins" the trade because he gets the best players. Thing is, he shouldn't be trading to win the trade, he should be trading to improve his team. This offer does not improve his team, where he needs it .

    14 team keeper league....

Why do you want to break up the Andersen/Gibson duo? That is gold Jerry. Gold!

yeah I don`t like the Subban side of the ledger sheet.

Keep Gibson and ask for something more tangible than Subban and I might consider it further
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

I'd keep Wheeler and company here. You don't need Bjugstad with your depth, as you mention, and Gibson to Subban is quite a downgrade. If you were getting a really solid center then I'd say take him, but Bjugstad doesn't do much to add to your team. I have very little faith in Parise, so keep that bias in mind.

In the absolute optimal situation for Parise I think he and Wheeler break even, so Parise = Wheeler. I don't think you can make the argument that Gibson, Duclair, Larsson<Tatar, Bjugstad, Subban, so it's a fairly easy rejection in my mind.

Offer has changed significantly - as it stands now i am offered Tomas Tatar for Adam Larsson and Anthony Duclair.

    Should i do this one?

Definitely would take Tatar. Think the earlier trade is scrapped but I wouldn't be comfortable with Smith and Bernier as my starters.
