    Default Rank for Keepers

This is a salary cap league with the following categories - G,A,+/-,PIM,SOG,GWG,PPP,SHP, Hit, Blk

I would like to review my defensemen minor league players for this league. At most I should have 5 defensemen in my minors

    Choices
    1. Gormley
    2. Marincin
    4. Valiev
    5. Bergman
    6. Walman
    7. Fleury

Which order would you rank them in. Who has a chance to have an impact this year or next year.

    Current Rostered Defensemen are
Pietrangelo, Carlson, Markov, Leddy, Ceci, Voynov (Others that are likely to be dropped to get down to roster limit)

(So right now my defense is set but Markov's salary is slowly becoming unmanageable and Voynov is a ???)
    C:Barbashev,Monahan,stephensen,Jenner, Bennett
    LW:Forsberg,Huberdeau,Jeannot, Kreider, Marchand
RW: Konecny, Pastrnak, Kaliyev,Zadina, Zuccarello, Wheeler
D: Bouchard, Carlson, Chabot, Jones, Pietrangelo, Weegar, Valimaki
    G:Hart, Vanecek, Montembeau

Forward Prospects: Frost, Glass, Kostin, Tomasino, Berggren, McLeod R., Veleno, Robertson N., Lapierre, Nadeau, Suzuki, Thomas, Barlow,Jarventie, Martino, Bokk, Edmonds, Firkus, Lysell, Rosen
Defense Prospects:Walman, Liljegren, Benoit, Grans, Korchinski

You've got a solid D corps as it stands so as you've noted, I'd really only be looking to eventually replace Markov and perhaps Voynov.

In that case, I personally think Fleury (1) and Gormley (2) are the top guys I'd be targeting for your transition.

    After those two, I'd say:

3 - Marincin (mostly because he's more proven and should be decent in peripherals)
4 - Bergman (just happen to like his game more than Valiev)
5 - Valiev (argument could be made for him to be higher than Bergman)
6 - Walman (think if he does make it, it's a long way off and he'll be a 5-6 guy)

FYI too that there's no #3 listed in your list. If it's Seth Jones I need to write a new post

Count me as one who would have Valiev higher, especially with turnover on Toronto's back end almost inevitable. Gormley and Marincin will have impact sooner, but if you can afford to stash one long term I'd keep Valiev.
