3 more points last night. Kid is now 6th in NLA scoring with 15 points in 12 games, also leads the league in goals with 10.

Not that far off the lead too (and he has less games than those in front of him.) Over time he could climb his way to the top!

Wow. That’s all I can say.

I would have gone overseas as well if I was in his position. It works great on so many levels for him personally, and it doesn’t look like it’s hampering his development at all.

He’s going to get on an NHL and act great with the vets on the team and get along great and not be the little annoying brother.

REALLY wish he gets on the Leafs. REALLY REALLY REALLY wish.

He’s able to play in the AHL if he doesn’t want to go back to Europe to tho. That’s a big bonus for his 2016-17 season. Right into the NHL/AHL development process where his drafted team controls his development.

So if an NHL team wants him to get used to “higher” talent, pop him in the AHL system for the yr. Or he can sign in Europe with a clause in his contract somewhat like W.Nylanders last yr? NHL team can’t recall him after xxxDate?

Signs with MOTO/Other Europe team (prolly wouldn’t go to KHL based on the Ruble) with the clause an NHL team can recall prior to January 8th 2017?

Wasn’t he said to be 3rd best if he was eligible for 2015 NHL draft? McDavid, Eichel, Matthews?

Need more information on this, is it like the yellow jersey in the Tour de France? Top goal scorer in the league wears it so he sticks out to fans?

Seems like he's got a bright yellow helmet in clip #2 (all teammates have blue). Kind of a cool concept for casual fans I guess....

Many NHL scouts believe that if Auston Matthews was eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft, he might have given Jack Eichel a run for his money as the No. 2 choice.

"I guess it's a little like asking me to compare Rembrandt and Picasso," NHL Central Scouting's David Gregory said. "They both make your art gallery better."

"Both these players do everything very well," Gregory said. "So when you say one is better at this or that it certainly doesn't mean that the other is not capable of that kind of play. I think that in the case of Auston Matthews, he plays a more consistent, high-energy type of game. He considers engaging physically sooner than Eichel would. When you combine this with his excellent hockey sense and his puck skills, it's a deadly combination."

"Eichel has a more controlled pace to his skating and stride and uses the cerebral part of the game before anything else," Gregory said. "He sees things almost before they happen and uses his tremendous puck skills to take advantage of the opportunity he sees. He can certainly be physical when he needs to be as well."

"My opinion is that Eichel is a two-way power forward who can produce points, and Matthews is a two-way skilled forward who can produce points," Rajanen said. "Both are high-end players."

The Leafs can get him. As long as the Oilers or Jackets don't get him

    PHunter such a silly comment....

OF COURSE the Oilers will get him! They must have a full horse up their asses with the amount of horseshoes that have fallen out already at the draft.

I believe each team's top scorer gets to wear a jersey and helmet that have yellow/orange flames with "PostFinance Top Scorer" advertised.
