Solid group. I still think Hartley wins it, but any of them would be deserving.
Hartley, Laviolette and Vigneault.

Hartley easily. But something tells me he gets fired in the near future, give it a year or two.

Based on? Not making the playoffs next year wouldn't do it. Not making it in the next two years wouldn't do it. It would take Oiler's level regression for that to happen. Not just in a standings sense, but in a player development/progression sense IE are their young guys progressing or taking steps backwards.
Wow...I must be out of the loop with all the coaching changes the last couple of years because Vigneault is the only one of the three who I can place on a current team.
How the hell is Trotz not on this list? I would remove Laviolette for Trotz, and Vigneault wouldn't be far behind.

Always the same candidates each year, a couple big surprises and then the coach who has shown consistency for a while.
Hartley will take it.
Isn't it also strange that Babcock has never won the Jack Adams? Based on all the hype around him these days one would think he would've won one at some point.
I think the fact that he hasn't won it speaks more to that the award winners are flawed, rather than Babcock being undeserving because I think he deserves to have won it.
My nominees for this year would have been in this order: Trotz, Vigneault, Therrien.
I really hope Hartley doesn't win. I have nothing against him, but I feel the award usually goes to the coach on the the that suprises the most.
That's why my vote would go to Vigneault. He's been one of the best coaches in the NHL for a few years now.
I gotta say I was surprised that AV made the cut, but I guess he did deal with injuries. I guess I just always saw NYR as a winning team with any coach at the helm.
My votes were for Hartley, Laviollette, and Maurice (Jets). But Maurice could have been flipped for Trotz even. I just think Maurice with his injuries, and how he had to deal with Kane while keeping his team in the hunt was deserving of at least a nod. Lav could have even been knocked out because of the final 3 weeks of the season, he didn’t really change much to the system to get them out of the funk.
Hartley is my winner, had a team fighting and inspired at every turn

Lots of coaches deserved to be finalists.
This award, like most of the others, means nothing.
