Default Ceci vs Dumba ... Who would you rather?

    Hey guys,

Just curious to see what the opinion on who would you rather own, CECI or DUMBA?

Who do you think will hit the 40+ point mark in their career first?

    Heres some information on them:

    Ceci: 2012 round 1 #15 overall by Ottawa Senators - NHL CAREER: 130GP - 30 points

Talent Analysis: A two-way defenseman that stands out offensively. Very good hockey sense and has overall impressive offensive abilities. Above average in areas such as puck handling, skating, passing and shooting. Could play a better physical game.

    Dumba: 2012 round 1 #7 overall by Minnesota Wild - NHL CAREER: 71GP - 18 points

Talent Analysis: A quite spectacular defenseman that combines offensive skills and speed with a strong physical game. Has a cannon of a shot from the blue and puts up points on regular basis. Is an impressive open ice hitter and will be even better with additional muscle mass. Defensive play could use some fine tuning. Has leadership qualities.

Dumba all the way for me.
    In a vacuum, I like Dumba's O just slightly more than Ceci's.
On Minny and Ottawa? Well Dumba may be the Weber 2.0 (pp-wise not overall) to Suter whereas in Ottawa that Karlsson kid just doesn't want to give up his PP time making it tough for Ceci to really blow up offensively.

Dumba. He's moving forward quickly in terms of his development as an offensive defenseman, and he's already a No.2 or No.3 guy there now

Dumba for me too. And (this might seem race related, but it's not) I see a lot similarities to PK in his game. big shot, great skater, loves to throw the body and sometimes it costs him defensive position. Phaneuf was the same way in his first few years too. Pretty different paths after those first few years though.

I voted for Dumba as well. For pts only I feel it really comes down to PP opportunity. And as was mentioned earlier, Ceci just won't have that chance with Karlsson there. Dumba should have a great chance in the future to take over the #1 PP job in Minn. Just taking a quick look at this years stats in minny:

    Suter: 11 pp
    Dumba: 6 pp
    Spurgeon: 6 pp
    Scandella: 5 pp
    Brodin: 2 pp

Suter played about 20 games more than Dumba. Spurgeon and Scandella only played handful more (6 and 8).

    For Ottawa:

    Karlsson: 30 pp
    Wiercioch: 5 pp
    Ceci: 4 pp

etc. Karlsson is clearly the king.

I'm the one who votes CiCi. Unfortunately I can't say that I meant to. Apologies for messing with the current clean sweep. Fully expect CiCi to get atleast 1 more when Ev chimes in, but I actually agree with Dumba. He's a full stride ahead in his development which means a ton and I love his progress and production to date. He's looked pretty darn good for a kid. I think he'll be a full fantasy tier ahead of Cici for the foreseeable future in most standard leagues.

I'm really high on Ceci and i expect him to start having better numbers next season and finish around 30, but i'd still take Dumba here.

Boy.. Dumba certainly looks further along, and there's no really set power-play quarterback in Minny. Not saying he's the guy, but more of a chance that he gets there than Ceci (who's got Karlsson ahead of him)

    Ceci looks legit, too.

But Dumba is just in a better spot, and seems to be a bit more ready

I will sit on the fence on this. I actually see them as both having similar potential and, in their prime, scoring around 40 points apiece. I know that probably doesn't help much, but I feel you can't go wrong either way.

I'm late to the party, I suppose, but I can't argue with all the votes for Dumba. I think he's a real sleeper in next season's fantasy drafts.

This is kinda how I feel too and why I have held off even commenting. I think both have excellent upsides and it's way too early in their careers to determine today who the better option will be long term.

Dumba has always had a high upside but also a wild side to him. Ceci has just always been a steady performer in his career and took some nice steps forward this past season.

There's no doubting Dumba has looked good as of late, but he still has a long way to go. Both of them do.
