For sure. Borowiecki has little to no value. O'Connor will be highly-sought after depending on where he signs.
With goalies being valued very high in my league, is it worth jumping on the bandwagon? I can get O'Connor, for a decent multi cat dman in Mark Borowiecki. Pull the trigger?

Considering we have no clue how well O'Connor will work out in the NHL (if at all) there's obviously a little bit of a gamble here, but if it's just for a depth Dman like Borowiecki, then I'd take that chance.

Based on your league settings, I would keep Borowiecki.
In his first "full" NHL season, Borowiecki had 1 goal, 10 assists, 30 SOG, 11 D points, 233 hits, 102 blocked shots, 107 PIMs, 13 Majors in 63 games. Let's recap that. Among dmen he was #1 in Majors, #2 in hits, #3 in PIMs, #96 in Blocked Shots. I think his value with your league settings is much higher than people are thinking. There's no way I would trade him away for a goalie who's only claim to fame is that he is an unrestricted free agent. Who was the last UFA goaltender to come out of college and have a decent NHL career? I don't count Andrew Hammond because 24 games does not equate to an NHL career.
I wasn't going to bother breaking it down as well as chuck has done, but my immediate reaction when reading your question was why bother dealing a player of value (any player) for a prospect goalie who may never actually become a fantasy asset.
Some gambles are worth it, but in this case I don't really think it is a good idea. More than anything, prospect goalies are so hard to predict, and in O'Connor's case, we don't even know what NHL team he will sign with.

I take Borowiecki in a heartbeat. In a Roto Salary Cap League he is very valuable. He starts a 3 year one-way deal that pays him $1.1M per year.

Actually, I'm changing my mind on this. I didn't look closely enough at your roster and didn't realize you desperately need a goalie. And in a 16 team league, goalies have HUGE value. This changes everything. I think you should take the gamble on O'Connor. He may never pan out, but you have to take this risk if you want to improve your goal-tending.

The question is if he achieves what is expected then you wouldn't be able to acquire him for that same price... Very much a boom or bust in my eyes
Borowiecki should be in your main list of dmen, not on the trade block for a prospect. I would ride that horse till it dies in this kind of league.
