Tavares trade - quick advice please

His Tavares and Svedberg for my Holtby and Kessel. For the team in sig. what does everyone think?

tavares may out score Kessel by 30 points (if Kessel has a down year and Tavares an up year) Svedberg started something like 12-14 games v an undisputed starter...

I don't like it. Losing Holtby will hurt you more than whatever you gain from the Tavares Kessel swap (mostly FOW). Svedberg isn't really a factor for me.

Normally, I am all over accepting any trade where I land Tavares, but the other part of the offer is a deal breaker. You simply cannot give up a starter for Svedberg who, in Boston, may never become an NHL starter.

How would you replace Holtby between the pipes?? Obviously you want Tavares over Kessel, but Svedberg is a career backup where Holtby is a clearcut starter..

Agreed...jT all day long but not for those 2. Unless you can find a replacement starter that's not svedberg but u likely.

Schneider will get me 60 starts. Would need to make up another 60 starts to be competitive in goalies cats. Svedberg,Pickard i think can get 30. Possibly someone like Elliot, Stalock, Khudobin i could get.... Also Svedberg, Pickard and (in the case of trading for him, Stalock) would all be minor league eligible, freeing up a roster spot for an additional skater.

I could also keep Holtby and trade Schneider in this same deal, if that matters.

Nope you're downgrading your goalies too much to warrant the move in my eyes
