    Default Phil K for Bishop?

20 team dynasty with the following stats: G, A, PTS, PPP, SOG, FOW, PIM, HITS+BLOCKS, +-, W, GAA, SV, SV%, SO.

I currently own Schneider and Holtby. I have been offered Bishop for Kessel. Pulling the trigger obviously creates a hole at RW (Doan/Panik best available FAs) but i would easily have the best and deepest G in the league. Team below:

    C
    Backstrom
    Filppula
    Kadri
    Namestnikov

    LW
    Pacioretty
    JVR
    Marchand
    Hoffman

    RW
    Ovechkin
    Kessel
    Eriksson
    Smith

    D
    Pieterangelo
    Shattenkirk
    Hedman
    Hamonic
    Maatta
    Russell

    G
    Schneider
    Holtby

Will Vasilevskiy take over from Ben Bishop anytime soon? Do i do this deal? Opinions greatly appreciated!

As a Bishop owner in a shallower league, I would never trade Bishop for Kessel. Vasi will eat some starts but he's not taking away the job yet.

You should be able to flip any of your three goalies for more than Kessel if you make this trade.

    I'd say do it.

Are you allowed to keep more than 2 goalies and do you have a minimum goalie start threshold each week? Also, you have to think ahead and consider how many conflicting starts those goalies might have in the future. I would keep Kessel.

We can roster as many goalies as we wish. Min starts are 3 per week. Good point on the conflicting starts too, never thought about that. Now im really torn lol. Bishop will be traded by tomorrow so i need to come to a decision sharpish.......

Anyone else care to chime in?

I usually take the G over a RW. But you already have 2 G and replacing Kessel with Panik or Doan just for a great third goalie on your team doesn't sound like the right move. Also, just because Bishop will be traded tomorrow shouldn't put pressure on you. You can always acquire Bishop from the next guy, no rule against that. So ignore any deadline here and make the right decision rationally.

Keep Kessel and enjoy next season's return to 40 goals and 75+ points. You would be adding to a strong G corps, while seriously weakening your RW. Nah, stand pat and be happy.

    Update:

Deal as it stands is Kessel and Pickard for Bishop and Coyle. I think this is an easy yes right?

    Bishop is overrated imo.

Vasilevsky will take his job, as soon as next season.

It was a no before, and all that was added were that you give up a better prospect. So it just got worse. So still no.

Just curious (and to help if you have further questions/threads), is this a H2H or Roto league? This may not change anyone's answer but this could be very relevant for any future deal/enquiry especially when goalies are involved.

I really need to set my team in my sig, its H2H.

Ok, final question i promise! 2 deals have been offered, 1 depends on the other:

Deal 1: I give Kessel, JVR for Voracek, Neiderreiter, 9th overal in entry draft
Deal 2: I give 9th and 12th overall in entry draft for Bishop

Kessel, JVR, 12th overall for Voracek, Neiderreiter, Bishop

    Kessel=Voracek
JVR, 12th overall = Bishop and Neiderreiter

Honestly, I think you will regret any of the deals mentioned in this thread. Phil had one of his worst years of his career this year, and it still was pretty good. Now is when people will be trying to buy low on him. Resist the impulse.

He will either be playing with more skilled forwards next season, or he will be dealt to a contender. Either situation will likely produce much better numbers than this season. Keep the Thrill.
