Default Pick two to start this week: Giroux, Monahan or Saad (REPS)

This is for a weekly starter league (not the team in the sig) playoff. The categories are G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SOG.

    Monahan: DAL STL EDM (3)
    Giroux: PIT CAR PIT (3)
Saad: LA VAN BUF STL (4)

Monahan and Giroux only play three times this week, otherwise they would be automatic starts. I don't like Giroux's schedule, playing Pittsburgh twice is not optimal. Monahan has the much better schedule playing Dallas and Edmonton, he should have a better chance at getting points. But Saad plays four times, and one of those days is that crucial Sunday where the series could be on the line. And he plays Buffalo in there too.

Goalie: W, SV, SO, GAA, SV%

Fowards: Tavares, Toews, T. Johnson, Kucherov, Backes, Turris, Huberdeau, Stepan, Kunitz, Filppula, Perron, J. Staal, M. Martin
Defense: Letang, Carlson, Streit, Fowler, Johnson, Zidlicky
    Goalies: Bishop, Dubnyk, Pavelec

I think you have to start Giroux and Monahan. Saad's schedule is nice but still.

From the games I've seen, Giroux seems to enjoy playing against Pittsburgh. Besides, the Penguins are missing Letang, Ehrhoff, Maatta... Didn't they go with 5 D-men in their last game? That one game against Carolina is just gravy.

Monahan has been hot lately, you can't leave him on the bench.

That's excellent advice, I didn't even think about the Pittsburgh defense being decimated.

I would start Giroux anyway, no matter his schedule. The guy is an auto start for me and even if PIT's D was cut down, Giroux normally plays well against the Pens.

This comes down to Monahan vs Saad for me. My personal preference is Monahan. He's still lining up with two of the hotter NHL players lately in Hudler and Gaudreau, and is still playing on the top PP unit.
