Also just heard on NHL radio that, while there's nothing official yet, early indications are a broken bone of some sort.

Out 6 weeks....Ouch!
Brett Connolly sustained a broken finger and he'll miss six weeks.
Boston just acquired Connolly from Tampa Bay and he didn't even get to play before getting injured in his second practice with his new teammates. He was struck by a shot from Dennis Seidenberg on Wednesday.

Probably doesnt mean anything for fantasy playoffs but thought id throw some hope out there. Our league does not allow FA pkups during playoffs so adding an IR guy is gold.
Connolly, who suffered a broken right index finger on March 4, has resumed skating with the Bruins, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Connolly is still sporting a cast on his right hand, so his return is not imminent. That said, given that Connolly is back on the ice again, conditioning shouldn't be much of an issue by the time his finger heals up. At that point, Connolly's ability to play will hinge on how well he is able to grip his stick and shoot the puck.

Julien hasn't ruled out Brett Connolly for Red Wings game
WILMINGTON – While there seems to be a little confusion about whether or not Brett Connolly has been medically cleared to play, it sounds like the big right winger could potentially make his debut Thursday night against the Red Wings.
The 22-year-old winger said he’s been taken off injured reserve in order to take part in Tuesday night’s pregame warm-up for the first time, and in his mind that meant he was ready to play. Claude Julien indicated a few minutes later that Connolly was never on injured reserve, and that he hadn’t yet heard anything from the doctors.
“We know that Connolly is pretty close to [a return], so we may have to move things around,” said Julien of the forward lines. “So this is where you get a chance to try things in practice. You move players around and see what players look like.
“I haven’t been told yet [if Connolly is cleared to play]. Just to clarify things, he was never on IR. He didn’t need to be cleared yesterday to take part in the warm-up. I haven’t heard any doctors giving me the okay yet. We both know he’s getting pretty close. So I’m not going to write him off for tomorrow, but I’m not going to say that he’s in for sure.”
That's great news for Connolly and the Bruins when it was first thought the injury would keep him out for the rest of the regular season.
Either way, Connolly took contact for the first time during Thursday’s practice at Ristuccia Arena and would have appeared to have cleared every single medical hurdle. That leaves Connolly the better part of five games to find a spot in the forward group after skating on the fourth line during Thursday’s practice session.
He’s looking forward to actually, officially joining the team by playing in a game after fracturing his right index finger in his second practice after getting traded to Boston. So donning the Black and Gold sweater and playing in a game has been a long time coming.
“I feel good enough [to play]. I feel good enough to go,” said Connolly, who had 12 goals and 15 points in 50 games for the Lightning while playing largely in a third line role. “Obviously you want to get in right away. I feel ready. You get excited obviously with everything that happened coming in here. It’s been a hard three weeks of not being with the guys, and not being on the road. For a new guy coming in that’s been tough, but the guys here have been great.”
So add the former No. 6 overall pick in the 2010 NHL Draft as another potential option on the wing for Claude Julien to play around with as he looks for the best combination of 12 forwards with just five games remaining to secure their playoff spot.

DETROIT -- Forward Brett Connolly may make his Boston Bruins debut Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings.
The 22-year-old, who was acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning by the Bruins at the trade deadline last month, said he is preparing to play after missing almost a month with a displaced fracture in his right index finger.
"I want to play tonight, but it's coach's decision," Connolly said.
The former first-round draft choice (2010, 6th overall) sustained the injury shortly after he joined his new club. Connolly said he's particularly eager to get back into the lineup with the Bruins fighting for a playoff spot.
"It sucks. Especiallyl coming to a new team. You want to be comfortable and playing and all that," Connolly said. "It was tough sitting out the last four weeks and not going on the road, just little things like that, not being around the guys as much as you should be if you were playing. It's good to obviously get back on the road and get close to playing here."
