Default I Has A Drop Problem

Threw Crosby on IR in the short window I had to snag Bailey for last night. Love what he is doing lately. But now I need to drop someone.

So my options are Pastrnak, Skinner, Bailey, Huberdeau, or Kuemper. I don't have the ability to make a trade (ESPN rules). It's likely whichever I drop will get picked up.

I'm thinking either Bailey, Kuemper, or Skinner. Skinner has been frustrating as hell but he's a hard guy to drop. Goalies are valuable but not that valuable if Kuemper doesn't play much. Thoughts?

In a 12 team league where each team has 10 forwards active and likely 3-5 more between Utility, IR, and bench, that means 150-180 total forwards are owned. With that, I think you're correct that any of the guys you're looking to drop would be claimed.

Just curious - why not have Lehtera as an option? He's older than any of the other guys you're considering, is eligible only at center, which is the "worst" eligibility in fantasy hockey due to the depth at the position, and there's probably a decent chance of him going back to the KHL after next season once he's a UFA.

He might well be my choice. Or Bailey, as with him there's a risk that the younger, flashier guys will relegate him to permanent third line, PP2 status next season.

Even with Bailey having a nice first half I still can't bring myself to trust him.

Because I'm not looking for keeper value (besides maybe Skinner) at this point. I have a top 3 team and looking to win. In my setup,

    Lehtera - 2.9 FP/g
Pastrnak - 2.8 FP/g (limited sample size obviously)
    RNH - 2.3 FP/g
    Huberdeau - 2.3 FP/g
    Bailey - 2.3 FP/g
    Skinner - 1.6 FP/g

Kuemper - 3.7 FP/g (pretty low for a goalie in our scoring)

Skinner is a hard drop because he's a really good young player who actually has Keeper value (as in, someone is gonna keep him this year). Bailey and Kuemper probably won't. Pastrnak, Lehtera, Huberdeau all might.

Skinner is getting drastically outscored. On a straight objective level he's the obvious drop. However him and Huberdeau are also the 2 most likely players to be keepers

I’d still drop Skinner. He’s one hit away from Lindros status. I have 0 faith in him and wouldn’t invest anything in him. Even as a keeper (and if he’s someone’s keeper, that team is in bad shape). But with your soft spot for Skinner (everyone has that player {JvR is mine}), maybe Pastrnak. I’d like rolling the die on Bailey. If he starts slowing down, you can always pick someone else up for him.

Drop Skinner. The guys not producing, and very unlikely to pick it up.

A tough situation with Skinner, he looked like a great player......as a rookie......and then.......
Time to move on, with the team you have, drop Skinner and don't look back
