Raonic is in tough. His service game is amazing, as always, but he is going to have a tough time breaking the number one player in the world. Tennis Canada is looking good though, for the future. I think Raonic and Bouchard both have majors ahead of them.
I hope Milos can pull it off. He will have to play an amazing match to pull it off.

First set to Djokovic... Very, very close though.

Raonic is never winning a match against a guy as good as Djokovic. Full marks to Milos for not getting broken in the first set though. In the past he'd always manage to hold serve until his last turn at 4-4 or 5-4 and then he'd get overwhelmed by Djokovic. Seems the footspeed work is paying off. He just doesn't have enough game to break Djokovic though, which is killer.
Oh and as we speak Raonic is about to get broken in the first game of set two. Unravelling?
A bit early to say unravelling... But pretty much.

I don't know if I would say that Raonic will never beat a guy as good as Djokovic. No question, Djokovic is the most complete tennis player in the world; he has been for a few years now. Raonic's game has improved huge in the last year or two. If he continues on this path, I think it is quite possible for him to challenge the top 2 or 3 players in the world... Fairly soon, too.

It has been nice to see the improvement in Raonic's game, but for him to take the next step he must improve his consistency with ground strokes from the baseline. He is not quite in that upper echelon of players because of this. I think it will come, but he still might be a year or two away from consistently knocking off someone like Djokovic. Very fun to watch him grow his game over the last year.
