    I...am your father.

    Default Ramblings Fodder

I doubt you want to see me blather on about the ASG.

In fact, I doubt I'll watch it. Maybe a bit. Maybe just the highlights. To be honest, thanks to Praba's ASG pool that would be the only reason I tune in LOL (see, fantasy sports draw eyeballs to games!)

So any topics you want me to touch upon?

Since we are just past the halfway point of the season, how about a brief look at the players over- and under-performing in mulit-cat contribution and whether or not its likely to continue?

Example: Wingels (shots/hits way up and he's become extremely valuable); Subban (shots/hits way down); Pavelski (shots and hits way up); Faulk (shots and hits way up); Giroux (shots way up) etc.

I'd be interested to hear some thoughts on these changes. Lots of other guys too but those are just the ones off the top of my head.

any take on the new technology they are showcasing at the all-star game? the chip in the puck and the jerseys?

I'm curious if this new data will open up new doors in fantasy hockey.

A list of widely available players you like for the 2nd half would be nice. I have a couple of open spots to fill after some trades and my watch list is short. Focus on players who are less than 20-percent owned.

While it may have little to do with fantasy hockey, just curious about your take on the recently announced 2016 World Cup of Hockey especially with how the teams are being comprised (in particular the under 23 North American team).

    Bottleneckers (12/16 in 2022)
    16 team, points only. G: 2-W, 4-SO.
    Top 9F, 4D & 1G . Keep 15, Max 23
F: J. Robertson, J. Hughes, Tavares, Lafreniere, Cozens, Newhook, Teravainen, Domi, R. Strome, Laine, Rossi, Raymond, Holtz, Perfetti
    D: Bouchard, McAvoy, Morrissey, Heiskanen
    G: Vasilevskiy

Pretty amazing that there was no skills competition live thread last night. Shows how much people don't care about the event. I watched part of the skills repeat (I watched the UFC show) and the contests were extremely random and terrible.

Something I would like to see goes beyond players and values. Mid-season is around the time where teams in keeper leagues make high-level decision on what direction the team should take moving forward. You have experience in this, probably on both sides of the fence and in different keeper formats. Maybe share some stories on a couple tough decisions you've had to make, what motivated them and how it turned out.

Personally I find that a lot of teams that are not far from being very competitive simply throw in the towel and go into a needless rebuild. I feel bad for them as many don't realize the level of frustration that might lie in the following year or two. Maybe your own stories can shed some light on the reality and give an alternative perspective on what to do next.

How about your opinion about wich teams, still fighting for a playoffs spot now, will give up early before the end of the season. Obvisously Buffalo, Edmonton, Carolina and Arizona won't do very well in the second half, but how about teams like Ottawa, Toronto, Philadeplhia, Columbus, Colorado, Dallas, Minnesota... If they start the second half with a few losses, and are relegated far from the playoffs spots, how bad can it influence the performance of the players from this teams during the fantasy playoffs?

I think you should just look at the team in my signature and do a full audit of it. Your members are dying to know how I can improve my team as I get PM's all the time about it. I would show you all them, but gosh darn it - I just deleted them all. You will have to take my word on this one.

    Thanks in advance.
