Vladimir Tkachev gets cut from Russia's WJ team

Quebec Remparts forward Vladimir Tkachev has been cut from Russia’s roster for the 2015 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.
Russia cut five players from its team today and Tkachev was among the cuts.
Tkachev, who joined the Remparts via trade with Moncton on Dec. 8, currently has two goals and four points in three games with his new squad. In 16 games with the Wildcats and Remparts this season, the 19-year-old, Omsk, Russia native has six goals and 20 points.
He was originally drafted by Moncton 39th overall in the 2013 CHL Import Draft and was invited to Edmonton Oilers’ rookie camp this summer.
Ivan Barbashev is the lone QMJHLer listed on Russia’s roster.
Russia opens the tournament Dec. 26, 2014 against Denmark at 1 p.m. EST from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ont.
