Schneider for me. I simply think he's the better goalie between these two.
No wins - GAA, SV%, SHO only.
Holtby is 25 and in an improving(?) defensive situation with Trotz.
Schneider has the better pedigree, 28, but on a much worse team.
On a contending team, so need the better goalie over the next 3 years.
Without wins included in the stats, which one is the better keep?
Schneider for me. I simply think he's the better goalie between these two.
Without Ws, I'd also say Schneider, but it's close.

This is close for sure. I think that perhaps Schneider is the better goalie but by how much, I'm not sure, I'm thinking it's pretty damn close. Washington, Mitch Korn and Trotz are, IMO, an advantage that Holtby has and as we have seen so far this year he keeps improving and is putting up nice numbers. I don't think that is going to change. I'll take Holtby.

I really like Holtby, but agree with others: In a league that doesn't count Wins, I think Schneider is the better long-term own.

I'm saying Holtby here but it is close. Sure wins don't count, but Holtby has the better team and defensive coach that the Capitals are just learning from. Not a fan of the Devils and where they are headed.
Holtby should win 2 out of those 3 categories over Schneider in my opinion.

Ive been impressed with Holtby lately but I'll say Schneider for now. Maybe Ill flip over to Holtby by the end of the year, but he's had an up and down career so I'll hold off 'til he shows he can do it for 60 games. Schneider has also never shown he can do it over 60+ GP (youd never know that given the praise he gets around here), but he's played more consistently over his career.

I tend to go with the better talent level in a keeper. Teams will chance quite fast. So hand me Schneider here.
Commish of UNFFHL, dangered species being the sole Panthers fan on Dobber.
I'll take the Holtby side. Sure wins aren't part of the deal but when Holtby learns more from new goalie coach and defensive system, I feel the caps will give him better stats across the board.
The Devils are average of 40 years old and don't appear to be a good team in the near future to me.

Without wins, definitely Schneider. Holtby has been inconsistent, although he is young and has been good this season. The Devils have some good young defensemen as well and should get better as a team as time goes on, while I think Washington is peaking.
I like Schneider here. NJ is a 2nd half team. Holtby should improve, so it's close, but I think Schneids long-term (assuming Lou can actually acquire some assets who aren't aging like fine wine).
