If he's weak on d why is he offering you yandle? I kind of like the original trade. Maybe upgrade theirs a bit but still you usually have to overpay to get crosby.
His Crosby, Yandle, and Turris for my Getzlaf, Perry, and Weber.
I said no.
Thoughts?
He's weak on d, so I countered with Crosby straight up for Getz and Weber. Enough???
Feedback appreciated.

Thanks.... His response was that he felt the trade value was fair was that he's looking for a winger.
I threw in Mike Cammalleri but I doubt that gets it done. Our league is tricky because it's not a flat out keeper. You can only keep players for 2 yrs, so it's always a balancing act of getting the players you want, but not trading veterans too early if you're potential stars aren't quite there yet.
Maybe Voracek + Weber??? Not sure why he offered Yandle. I suppose he likes Weber more and wanted to offer decent value back???
Am I right in thinking Crosby >>> Getzlaf or is it closer than I think....

No chance I trade my Crosby for just Getz & Weber. Would take a huge offer.

@GoNucks- We have hits in our league, too. Which makes Weber even more valuable (and Getz too for that matter). That being said, I would be hanging onto Crosby tightly too. I have a question for you- just to hear your thoughts (and others' thoughts too)- At what point do you think perceived value goes too far when compared to actual value?
Like, what I mean is, I'm not going to mortgage the farm just to enjoy the services of Sid the Kid for 2 years- I have a team that took the trophy home last year and have had to rebuild to even get into contention this year (currently 3rd). I know Sid is a difference maker, but when trading for him is he really worth a team's top three players on that roster? I feel like people lose track of this and make crazy offers that have the potential to kill their chances. To illustrate, the guy who is currently trying to move Crosby finished in like last or 2nd last place last year.

I agree 100%.
It is very tough in a 2year keeper to max your value and I would absolutely not overpay for a star.
I actually think perceived value is what gets teams into trouble in fantasy. I have some stars Crosby Malkin Seguin but some of my most important guys are the multi cats that noone vues high like (Dubinsky, Marchand, Filpula etc).
Hits being included does play a role but I would not overpay in a 2 year keeper.
Hope that helps you!

Thanks so much! Definitely. My offer is now Getz + Weber + Cammalleri for his Crosby and a 5th.... He is taking a long time to get back to me and I know he's been online, so he's probably not going to take it. I don't really want to go much further... maybe if he countered with a 6th or 7th instead of a 5th pick, but otherwise, I don't think it's worth it. Maybe I'm going about it the wrong way- maybe I should offer Voracek (who I think is a 80 pts. player or more this year) with another forward. I just don't have the depth on the wing to make a strong offer. Stamkos would be perfect because he has RW eligibility too, whereas Crosby does not.
Also, I agree!!! I love those underrated guys- last year, I had Dubi and I pretty much cleaned up on hits with him and Hanzal alone. I'd like to find a few more "star" skaters who play more time short-handed. It's such a crap-shoot category that is so rare to get stats in. And, in our league it's not SHP but SHG only- makes things interesting!

UPDATE: He rejected my Cammy, Getz and Weber offer, but said he would do Perry and Weber for Crosby.
Ahhhhh! Do I take this?
I would definitely do Perry and Weber for Crosby. Seems like low value to me but I guess that is because of the 2-year thing.
