Songs for kids slideshow

As I posted last year, I like to do up a slideshow each year for my kids' birthday. Normally, I like to add some recent songs, but thanks to the Frozen soundtrack, I haven't heard a lot of new songs on the radio this year (or any songs on the radio, for that matter).

Does anyone know some good recent songs that would be appropriate for a kids slideshow? They don't need to be sappy. A couple of years ago, I put in We Are Young by Fun and Beautiful by One Direction. Last year was Katy Perry's Roar, Maroon 5's Moves Like Jagger and Taio Cruz's Dynamite.

I am a country bumpkin who rarely listens to anything current on the radio. I find most music sucks today so I live on my ipod or listen to talk radio.

My suggestions would be the Happy song from Despicable Me 2, then I like the Fergie song "A little party never hurt nobody".

If you are daring, I have actually pulled out some old school songs like Abba - dancing queen, Cindy Lauper - Girls just wanna have fun, Bob marley - One Love, Police - De doo doo doo, Prince - a bunch of songs, (not sexy Motherf*&%$#..lol).

I also played old rap like ToneLoc - funky cold medina... I think there are PG versions from MTV on youtube.

I will look at my playlists when i get home.

Well, unlike Axeman, I am not a country bumpkin but like Axeman I agree with his opinion on new music. The newest music I listen to is going to be much older than your kids but maybe Ella Fitzgerald's "A Tisket, A Tasket" might be fun for them.

Dutch's list is pretty good and includes several songs my kids like.

My 5-year old does the "Shake it Off" song with me & the wife.
We are all terrible dancers... but that song is super catchy.

That and "Happy" are must-includes, I think, from the past year.

Thanks for the help folks. I'll be doing up the sideshow next week, and have been scratching my head on what to include. I'll listen to all the songs on the weekend and go from there.

I have used older songs for other slideshows (girls just want to have fun, You are so Beautiful to Me, etc.) but I like to include new ones as well.

This year I'm leaning toward Everything is Awesome, Frozen, Forever by the Beach Boys, maybe Butterfly Kisses and Never Grow Up (by Taylor Swift). and then one or two new ones. So the posted songs will be a big help.
