Cam Atkinson
Cam Atkinson took Ryan Kesler's skate to the face in the 3rd period of tonights Ducks 'Jackets game. He left the game immediately. It appears as though he took no damage to the eye but he was cut pretty badly. No word yet on if or for how long Atkinson may be out.

Unfortunate byproduct of a sport with sharp metal blades.....no suspension imo

I don't think a suspension is warranted as Kesler's leg came up because Atkinson's stick was under his leg and Kesler was trying to skate around it while playing the puck. Pure accident. And Cam is lucky as it looked like the blade cut his eye lid and brow. If the blade had contacted half an inch down, I assume it would have been a career ender for Atkinson. Thankfully that didn't occur.
