    Default BLOCKBUSTER: Seguin for Giroux

I was offered my Seguin for his Giroux. FrozenPool player comparison has them both extremely, scary close. I'm leaning towards accepting the trade since Giroux gets a lot more FOW's and PIMS. What is everyone else's opinion?

My roster, and league rules are in the signature. Reps for any replies!

P.S. This is a limited keeper league, and the one foward I would keep is John Tavares over both Giroux and Seguin, so this is a one year deal.

Fowards: Tavares, Toews, T. Johnson, Kucherov, Backes, Turris, Huberdeau, Stepan, Kunitz, Filppula, Perron, J. Staal, M. Martin

seguin is the sexy pick these days, but I think I prefer Giroux over seguin.

let's put it this way. who would you draft first if you could have both? that should be your answer

in a limited keeper it's even less important. just go with the player you prefer more. I think Giroux will outscore seguin this year

One year only, I'm going Giroux for the FOW as you mentioned.

Keeper wise I think I would still take Giroux over Seguin.

Tavares is probably the right call over the both of them for you though.

It's funny because I had the third overall pick, and with the limited keepers, the draft went 1) Giroux, 2) Getzlaf, 3) Seguin (me). I probably would've taken Giroux anyways but I haven't been dissapointed thus far with Seguin. This is a tough one!!

yeah this is close, but I think I'd edge Giroux by a hair on a one year basis.

Unanimous for Giroux. I must say, I am leaning towards accepting this trade. Any other opinions? Are there durability issues with either guy? Line chemistry is great for both: Benn-Seguin/Giroux-Voracek...

G for me. I traded Seguin for him 2 summers ago and despite G's slow start last year, I'm happy with the move. G stirs the cup, I'm not totally sure how Seguin would be affected if he were to lose Benn for any length of time.

Another vote for Giroux here. It is extremely close IMO, but since you won't be keeping either, I'd prefer Giroux over Seguin in a one year league.

Some really good advice here... The fact that they are literally so statistically comparable makes this extremely difficult ! I guess no matter what I do I just hope the guy doesn't get hurt

I'll actually say Seguin here. I personally feel it's gonna be a big breakout year for him, putting him just under that 'elite' status. Lately the lines have been Benn-Spezza-Seguin but I don't see that lasting, due to either wanting to spread out the talent to more than one line, or Spezza's back catching up to him again. If they do decide to slot Seguin into the C position, that closes that gap on G running away with more FOW than Segs. Although you definitely can't go wrong with either, I'll throw my name in the hat for Seguin.

Giroux for me this season. Long-term I might prefer Seguin but for this season I'll take G who's looking like he's intent on getting back to the 90 point level. He almost made it there last year even after his horrible start, so I'm thinking he's a decent bet to get there this season. The FOW will be nice, as well as the small boost in PIM and hits.

You are definitely right though, this is not an easy choice.

I think Seguin and Giroux are among the most comparable elite talents in fantasy leagues, and given the categories it could go either way. But I'd say with those categories, you might as well go with G (ever so slightly) as you know what you are getting.
