Default Hits league: Parenteau or Marchand

    Team 2 in sig

    Interesting proposal given Marchand's production

    My Parenteau for his Marhcand

I had Cally go down so my hits are lacking
H2H league so of course to a point, they matter

    Who'd you rather going forward?

    Thanks!

    Parenteau for sure.

Marchand is playing 3rd line mins and is not going to match his pt totals from recent years this year I don't think.
He's also anything but a 'tough' guy in terms of hits, he might get you 70 or so but nothing to get excited about (PAP will get about half that), not enough to make up for the drop in pts

yeah I'd pass as well, as Mcgoo stated the up-tick in Hits from Marchand isn't worth the hit in the rest of the stats, go for a heavier hitter if that's what you are after.

    Cheers boys

    As a non-Bruin fan/follower, I was going off of Marchy's end of 2014 season

    Repped, as always!
    Thanks again

Not to start a fight or anything but is Marchand really getting 3rd line minutes? He looks more 2nd line.

He's currently the 4th in time on ice per 60 even strength.
    http://www.behindthenet.ca/nhl_stati...+4+6+7+8+20+10

He's currently 8th in time on ice per 60 when 5 on 4.

The low 5 on 4 can be attributed to not seeing that much time on the powerplay. Even that has increased the last couple of games:

    Last game PP line combos.

REILLY SMITH CARL SODERBERG PATRICE BERGERON LOUI ERIKSSON 18.2%

You need to make sure you have the 3rd drop-down set to "All Season to Date", you only have it set for the previous game

For the record I'm counting the Krejci/Lucic line and the Soderberg/Eriksson line as the top 2 but I know that is far more fluid.
Also a point could be made that Boston not only cycles those top 9 guys pretty evenly but that they'll put different people on the ice at different times (prime example is Bergeron on important defensive zone draws) so that throws the numbers off a bit too.

But you could well be right that he's getting more quality minutes lately, I watched a bunch of them at the beginning of the season but I haven't watched a Bruins game since the Habs one so things may have changed since then.

That's cool. Thanks for the response Mister McGoo. Yea I agree that Boston spreads their top 9 out. It's very hard to determine who's playing top minutes. Your make good points with your top2 list.

Anyway I left the 3rd dropdown to last game lines to show that he's starting to get pp1 time. I'm sure he got the top PP minutes 2 games ago too but I wasn't sure how many people trust the lines on fantasyhockey911.com (http://lines.fantasyhockey911.com/li...s/2014-10-18#/).

Yep you're right, much more PP time averaged this season than last (a full minute extra...wonder why?)

I find NHL.com does a good job of these numbers too, very easy to filter down on their site:

Right on. Thanks for the link! Much cleaner that what I was using.

As far as the increase PP time, I think it had to do with his increased conditioning during the offseason and impressing the coaches during preseason.

    http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/b...will_be_better

He was playing more on the PP during the preseason and I expected that to continue when the season started. That didn't but I figured that was due to the Krejci injury and Lucic not being 100% and screwing up the lines. Maybe this is the start of good things to come.
