We keep 20 from year to year. Right now Pacioretty is a big part of my team but I probably wont contend this year (not until Enroth and Mason start getting in the win column) so I'm thinking about doing a straight 1 for 1 swap.

I'd prefer Patch by a slight margin because I think he's the better bet to keep up his scoring... I'm still not totally sold on Lando being a big producer.

I prefer MaxPac mainly because I think he's a better offensive player.

I don't see this trade as helping you now, or a year from now. One other key about MaxPac is he's an unquestioned top line and PP1 guy in Montreal, whereas Colorado's forward depth is so significant that arguably any of their top six could fluctuate into or out of the top line and PP1. In other words, Pacioretty has the better spot locked up, which in turn means he's far more likely to be a reliable producer going forward.
