    Default Perry/Malkin Trade?

    Hey guys. Im in a 12 team league with the scoring system of

    Goals=3
    Assists=2
    Plus Minus =0.5

    W=3
    Saves=0.2
    Goals Against = -1

    This is year 1 of the league and I drafted a very young team with many prospects in the farm system. My strategy is to build up a bunch of youth to win in 2 or 3 years. I am offered a trade of:

    MY Malkin, Craig Anderson for HIS Perry, Lehtonen, 1st

    My strategy this year is to try to get as many 1st round picks as I can to try to land McDavid. What do you guys think of this trade? The guy is a huge PIT fan.

    It's not that bad. I kinda like Perry's side a little bit more.

    For me, Malkin is too risky. Could win you your pool, but too injury prone to my liking.

    I have to think you could get more for Malkin. The deal itself isn't terrible, but I think you can get an upgrade on Perry.

    What does the rest of your roster look like? I think with a slightly better player back or even an extra pick it would be a good trade for you. Sometimes mid round picks can be nice to sweeten deals and possibly help you get more first round picks backs.

    Given your scoring system I doubt there are many better players to own in your league than perry.. I think you could get a little more (perhaps a 2017 1st?) but this is a pretty good return, especially if the other team had a weaker inaugural draft and that 2015 1st ends up being a high pick.. Heck even if it nets you a zacha or barzal type that would be a huge bonus.

    I believe I would do the deal as is but... I would try to get an upgrade at D as well. You are a little light in that area. You've got Trouba as a prospect, but nothing else. Kulikov is in your 2nd pairing. Yikes! I'm wondering if you could tweak the deal to trade dmen instead of goalies. Then again Anderson and Holtby as your goalies is also a little worrying, but not as bad as your defence.
