Maybe a lock to start there, but certainly doubtful to finish there. A great rookie to pick, but temper expectations. In a dynasty, that's a no-brainer. In one year leagues though, I would rather Bozak
How relevant do you see him being this year? Projections? Looks to be a lock for first line. I'm thinking if dropping Bozak for him in my Dynasty. I'm set at C and Fors is C/RW eligible. Smart move this year before he gets noticed?

I definitely like him over Bozak long term but not for this year.
Agreed....Lavy tends to screw with his lines as he learns about his players especially if they do not start fast

I'm not sure Forsberg is a lock for the top line. Craig Smith and Colin Wilson are still in the mix.
Anyway, for this year I'll take Bozak. Long-term I like Forsberg but I think it'll be a few years before he definitely passes Bozak in production.

...and compared to Reilly Smith?
I know this question may look stupid, but A) Smith is playing on a much better team, and B) Forsberg seems to develop slower than expected, and I care about the short-term success of my keeper team.
He looks pretty awesome.

Short-term = Reilly Smith
Long-term - Filip Forsberg.
Forsberg at some point in the next 2 years(ish) will most likely surpass Smith in overall scoring. I believe he has higher upside and better overall talent.
Smith is solid though and has more weapons to play with at this time.
Forsberg has already spent time on the 2nd line. I would stick with Bozak and Smith. If injuries open up a spot for him though (E. Staal, Horton) then I would pick him up. I have Forsberg on a couple of my teams and I have been enjoying his early production.
I prefer Forsberg over Reilly Smith, fwiw. Smith's were so crazy percentage-driven last season I don't buy him repeating them. Especially since he kinda came out of nowhere. He might outscore Forsberg this season, but I'm not even positive that happens....and long-term I like Forsberg a lot more.

Smith is a goal-scoring forward with nifty hands who loves to finish in and around the net. He had success at the college
level with Miami (Ohio), including being a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award in 2011-12 while posting 30 goals in 39
games, and this year that success translated directly to the AHL. Though Smith struggled through the first couple months of
his first pro season with the Texas Stars (six points in 18 games), he put up 19 points in his next 19 games, which earned
him rookie of the month honors for December and a subsequent call-up to Dallas in mid-January. While there, Smith
proved he may even be ready for full-time NHL duty as he dressed for 37 games with the Stars, putting up nine points. His
NHL totals were rightfully streaky (zero points in his first 12 games, five in his next nine, four in his final 16), but Smith
showed flashes of the same scoring touch that made him successful at the AHL and College level, which bodes well for his
future. With his older brother Brendan now in a full-time gig for the Red Wings, don’t expect Reilly to take much longer.
