It looks like Ribeiro and Neal will be riding shotgun on the 1st line, who do you guys think will be the 3rd partner. Craig Smith is my best bet I think?

It seems like almost a foregone conclusion that Neal and Ribeiro will play together. As for the third member of that line, I really hope it is Craig Smith. However, so far in camp Stalberg, Beck and Forsberg have also spent some time on that line so I think that 3rd spot is up in the air right now.

Wilson, Forsberg and even Bourque could land there to balance out the lines. I would think Smith may see PP time, but it would not say he's a lock for the 1st E-S line.

It would be interesting to see Stalberg land there. I know they brought him in hoping for some offense and it really never came about last year. Maybe they try him there to get him going this year.

not sure what they are at the moment though, and obviously fisher is hurt, so jokinen would slide to center and bourque or so would be on the wing.

With Fisher out for a few months, who's centering that 2nd line for you in the mean time?

I think Jokinen will slide in to centre the second line which could create an opening on the wing for Forsberg.

edit: Oops Dutch already mentioned that above

I'd say jokinen with Wilson and bourque on the wing.

unless olli plays 3d line and roy moves up to 2nd.

my lines were mostly uneducated guesses, but I like it on paper

Nash will be in tough if they have to rely on Olli as their 2nd centre.
Thinking it will be smith on the #1 line but I wouldn't doubt they give Forsberg a good look.

Smith gonna run away with it. He has been continually exceeding expectations with limited minutes in Nashville - My number one breakout candidate.

Didn't he technically break out last year with those 52 points? You are expecting a lot more than that?

Trotz would always vary his minutes, seemed like there was a trust issue or personality clash. Logging 14mins a game for stretches at a time until he unleashes a 2 goal night or a 3 point night then given maybe 16mins for a bit then dies off back to 14+... to put up the numbers he did in the amount of time he had on ice in a 2nd/3rd line role i see a great opportunity to get some big time minutes with the club this year under Laviolette. He's got a wicked shot, great passer and works hard every night.

I like your confidence in him Badger. I am a fan but I am not as optimistic as you. I do think he has a couple of 60+ pt seasons in him if all the pieces fall into place.
