Yeah, it's all about revenue anyway. What's the point of having 15,000 fans where half of them were gifted tickets because they bought a case of Bud Light? My understanding regarding the Quebec City franchise was more about getting corporate sponsorships in order/line. I'm really pulling for them because I know that they will support an NHL team 100% and what they had happen to their team before was dirty. What is it with owners trying to make some bucks off of these franchises? sheesh, you'd think it was their money, oh wait...

Not necessarily. But you can basically guarantee that any location without an arena isn't getting one.

That would make the most sense. They are already in the Atlantic division. Then TBL can move to the Metro division and CLS can move to the Atlantic to balance it out.

Quebecor's Pierre-Karl Peladeau was the driving force behind the project.

He has since left Quebecor to go into politics.

I wonder what impact, if any, that would have on Quebecor's plans.

Quebecor owning a team makes sense because the company's media outlets would generate additional revenue. But I wonder if a team in Quebec city would be profitable enough for an owner that can't benefit from that kind of synergy.

A team in Quebec city cannot survive without major Corporate Sponsorship. Hopefully companies like Quebecor and others will step up to the plate otherwise I just don't see a team surviving there. Plenty of interest in hockey, just nobody willing to pay for tickets.

It looks like a small, local arena not really an NHL-level arena. Maybe that's just because with no seats yet it looks like cold steel bleachers. But man that place looks tiny.

I think Quebec City has done there homework on the arena and its size, to get an NHL team back. Hopefully they spoke to Mark Chipman in Winnipeg. Quebecers will support a new team.
