    Default Rank Perry, Backstrom, Kopitar

How would you rank Corey Perry, Nicklas Backstrom and Anze Kopitar for a points-only league, no positional for forwards.

We have an expension this year so we protect only 3 players (instead of 6) and when a player is taken from our team we can protect another one.

I currently own Kopitar as my 3rd protected player. The guys who owns Backstrom et Perry will certainly loose them. His 4th, 5th and 6th player are these 2 with Duchene. I know that his high on Duchene so he ranks them this way Duchene-Perry-Backstrom. So if he gets Perry taken he will protect Duchene and the eventually loose Backstrom.

So my question is that will it be a reward for me to offer him Kopitar + Draft pick vs Perry or Backstrom

My first guess is that Kopitar will have a big season if Gabo stays healty and that Backstrom will have a little step back but I'd like to have other opinions.

    Thanks

    Update

The trade is down Kopitar + 6th round vs Backstrom + 8th round

    I'd pretty easily go:

    Backstrom
    Perry
    Kopitar

Backstrom's a threat to return to the 90-100 points range, I don't see that happening with Perry and definitely not Kopitar.

Agree with this. Backstrom is the clear cut number one, point per game for his career, just a safer bet with higher upside.

Perry is number two with the potential to outscore Backstrom in the odd year, but the floor is lower, and with these high end picks, you want a safer floor with your potential.

Kopitar is also solid, but hasn't shown he can keep up with the other two. Again, this is a floor issue with regards to your high picks. Go for the bigger boom/bust players with your later picks.

Backstrom - like others stated, better upside... and he seems criminally underrated each and every season.
Perry - awesome player, better suited for multi-cat. PPG or so is likely his ceiling.
Kopitar - great talent, defensive system that just won 2 Stanley Cups for the Kings... so it won't change anytime soon.

Yep. Backstrom is the pretty clear #1 here in points-only. Perry has the upside to outscore Backstrom, but most years Backstrom will cruise to more points.

    I would rank them

Backstrom - Perry as equals. Can't go wrong with either of them. pts should be close this year. Approx. ppg

kopitar at a distant 3d. approx. 70 pts

Backstrom>Perry>Kopitar. I'd have no problem trading Kopitar in this situation.

I think Perry and Backstrom could be close... With the new coach for the caps likely working the D side of the game.. Just for that I'd go Perry, Backstrom and way back Kopitar
