    Default 1st pick?

    I have the 1st pick in my upcoming 2014 prospect draft. Its a points only league and my team is not really that good. I have a few good young players (Barkov, tatar, Nichushkin, Gallagher, Saad, and Landeskog to name a few) and am trying to build from there. I'm not a big fan of taking a D with my 1st overall pick but that is what I'm asking. Do I take Ekblad or do I take one of the other known Forwards from the 2014 draft? If you think I should take a forward, which one?................thanks in advance for your thoughts!! Team NOT in sig.

    I'd look at Bennett and Draisaitl at 1.

    Bennett would be the easy choice in a multi-cat league but points only makes it tough.

    Draisaitl should make the Oilers out of camp and center the second line while Bennett might get one more year of seasoning.

    Rienhart is another option. He should make the Sabres this year as well...

    A quick search of these forums will probably land you more than enough opinions on this question. Here's a couple from the past just doing a quick search on Leon Draisaitls name:

    I want to see the team you are talking of, as it isn't the one in your sig.

    If you want a forward I would take either Bennett or Draisaitl, Bennet with more upside long term but Draisaitl likely to produce some numbers this season
    14 team H2H fantasy points league
    G=3 A=2 PPP=1.5 PIM/Hits/BS=0.25
    W=4 SO=6 GA=-1.25 SV=0.15

    i would go with reinhart. but i would also try to trade the pick first. see what you could get for it, especially if one of the worst teams in your league wants to give you his 2015 first rounder (and something else on top) for your pick. mcdavid, eichel, hanifin, etc. all worth more than anyone from this year's draft. if you afford to wait a year you should do it.

    I would go with Draisaitl probably. Bennett would be a close second.
