It's not a bad offer, but if I had Nich I wouldn't trade him for that.

In a points only league, you are thinking of offering two young "scorers" for one multi-cat guy, who may or may not outscore either of the two you are offering in a points only format. Why??
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League

25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
    Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt

Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, Brink

    G- Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Oettinger

Kucherov and Strome haven't really don't anything at the NHL level. I'd classifiy Nich as just as much offensive potential as strome right now and more than Kucherov.

Ya, Nichushkins 34pts in 79 career games shows he's a far more proven scorer than Strome or Kucherov.

Nich has good upside but with the arrival of spezza who's supposed to slot in with benn and seguin, I don't think you'll see that upside for another year or two at least. Now if it were a multicat league things would be different....

    Sure.

Strome: 37 career games, 18 pts in a 3rd line role last year. (pretty much equal to Nichuskin in ppg by himself and Nichushkin was playing top 6 minutes)

Kucherov: 52 career NHL games, 18 pts. Over a ppg player in the AHL last year as a rookie there.

I won't be surprised at all to see Strome out produce Nichuskin in a points format this year by himself. I think its fair to say that all three are far from seeing their prime, but to trade away two kids who are known scorers for one kid who is more known to be a multi-cat guy is crazy IMO.

Nichushkin is just todays flavor. Stome at one time was too. Soon, someone else will be. Don't overlook the long term projections for all three of these kids.

Nich did it in his draft year +1. Strome did it in draft year +3. Not that it's the defining factor, but I'd make that deal every single day. I see Nich as having an upside over Strome in offense.

Bah, you have your Nichushkin blinders on, like many do when it comes to points. How quickly everyone forgets when Strome was the top offensive prospect out there to own. The Islanders actually did the right thing for a change and let the kid go to the AHL and dominate (which he did btw) before bringing him up because of injuries last year. Points only I prefer Strome as an equal if not better option long term to Nichushkin, and we haven't even started to talk about the kid who has done nothing but score every league he has played in. This is an overpayment in a points only league for a very good multi-cat player.

Spezza is essentially a lock to be the 2C. Benn and Seguin on line one and Spezza Hemsky on line two it looks like. And since Hemsky and Nich are both RW I would assume Nich to remain on the first.

I don't think they'll want to do that. They want Seguin to remain at C and continue to improve his game (especially on faceoffs). They brought in Spezza to center their 2nd line.

Not what I've been hearing, but if that's the case then Nich is in a good spot. So is Strome though down the road and in a points only league I'd probably lean towards him.
